No wonder why people congratulate the new mods.

Not at all neil.

If i disagreed with the post, i'd have said that as well. There are fair points raised which i happen to think are good enough to have commented on. The match threads become a quagmire as they are and this way, imo is the best way in which to handle them.

Kudos, credit....call it what you will. When its due - i'll give it.

No matter who the poster is.

The problem with in match discussion is heat of the moment (especially after poor results or bad performances) means that things are posted, lovers have tiffs and threads descend into name calling and arguments a little too easily.

I personally think that match threads should be as so:

1) Pre Match build up - team speculation, injuries and tactics discussion and all the likes.

2) In Game thread - for people to post one line belters like "missed", "get in you beauty" and the less spotted "GGGGGGGGGGGGGGggggggooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllll

llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll" type of things.

3) Post match discussion. Reflection, apologies for lovers tiffs, kissing and making up etc...

If the post match discussion takes place too early, ie heat of the moment then this can spill over to the often excellent discussion about what went wrong, good substitutions and my personal favourite "hindsight".

I agree with that but then that once again brings in the question of the "liverpool games" section of the forum.

Are we suggesting that all game discussion should go in this section or the "liverpool general discussion" part? I ask because the "games" section is hardly ever used at the moment. I suppose this would be one way of using it more, certainly having the in game discusssion in there at least.

Even more reason for a 'trimming' down of the available sub-sections then.

I dont see the point of:

General Discussion
Players Lounge
Games
The Kop
Rumour Mill

I think that it would be better to have simply:

General Discssion
The Kop
Rumour Mill

Gen Disc - everything from pre/post game threads to injuries and hte like except forwhats in the other two:

The Kop - match related facts, in game discussion, songs, ticket discussions etc

Rumour Mill - all transfer stuff.

Dont see the point of the other two meself.

I never go in the players lounge at the ground or on this forum...or in the games section, so also feel it could be trimmed down.

FYI folks...I've locked several dated polls this evening that made their way onto the New Posts board.  The aim is to minimize spam on the New Posts board without denying anyone the right to read through the polls by deleting them outright.  BTW, "dated" to me means polls that have not had any posts (rather than votes) added to them for a few months.  So, if you want to keep a poll current, post in it rather than just voting (like we've seen with the Favourite Smells poll tonight).

Any questions or concerns can be PMed to St. Mike! :D

Actually lads I think we should get rid of the poll threads. It's rather pointless imo. It's not like we get that many polls made [most are :censored: takes].

Yer it is a bit pathetic when polls from the likes of Cheesecakery (Jonnys bezzie mate :D) Roberts, and Doms polls from yonks get bumped just for people to get their post count up.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
