++ Another prime example of paying 4 years wages and getting fanny-adams in return. HOW much has this failure cost us ??

Liverpool have confirmed forward Anthony Le Tallec has joined Le Mans on a season-long loan deal.

It is the second campaign running that the midfielder has been sent away as last season he was with Sochaux and the 22-year-old appears to have little future at the club where he has struggled for first-team football.

Since arriving at Anfield in the summer of 2003, Le Tallec has made just 32 appearances for the Reds, scoring one goal, and hopes of breaking into Rafael Benitez's plans appear slim.

Depending on how he performs with his new club there is an option for the deal to be made permanent at the end of the season.

The hype was unbelievable when we signed him and Pongolle.  We were told we'd just signed the best two kids in world football.

B*ll*c*ks being told stuff like that really isn't it?  Just makes it all the more disappointing when the inevitable happens and they don't turn into Zidane's, Figo's and Rivaldo's.

Please tell me this is the last year of his contract.

He's had more loans over the last four years than me and the missus.

Was he ever really given a fair chance?

Manhattan is not so sure.

Still, if we can get some money for him, it will be worth it. Hopefully his career will do well elsewhere.

Good luck to him.

Wasn't he top scorer for Sunderland when he was on loan with them?

Then again that was the season that they were awful in so it doesn't say much. Even if he does come good on yet another loan deal, I doubt we have room in the squad for him now.

You're right TMP....

He wasn't really given a chance. BUT imo, his attitude didn't help. He never conviced anyone to give him the chance not because of a lack of talent (he has that from what I've seen of him).... But from lack of application.

He never gave HIMSELF a chance.

What a waste of talent. Will be glad to see the back of him.

He's joined Le Mans! It all makes sense now! When Houllier signed him, he'd been told he was a pacy little runner. It just turns out that they were talking about his driving ability! So what car's he driving at Le Mans?
