Seen as some of you have decided you don't rate Owen no more, please vote and let us know who you voted for...

Will be interesting to see if any of you put your pride where your mouth is.

I'm gonna suprise you all and go for Owen.

I fancy Cisse.
He's got a lot of goalscoring ability, manages to get himself into the right place most of the time. He could suprise a lot of teams this season.

Cisse gets my vote.  26 goals last year and consistent during the last three seasons.  Whereas, Owen will probabaly miss a couple of months with injury and Baros' future is unclear.

Why bother with Murphy, Gerrard, Pongolle and kewell......................der!!!

Ok I vote for Kirkland, probably not though, because he will have a couple of months out injured!!

Can we please think logically about future posts, and stop making them up for the sake of a new post!!!

PLEASE

Undoubtly Cisse. Hopefully he settles in quickly. Owen gets injured too often and therefore i think he will not score more than 15 goals. Baros and Pongolle will not play enough to challenge Cisse.

Because Cisse maybe another Heskey and struggle to get past 10 in some peoples opinions, Baros highest total for Liverpool so far is 12, Owen has had one bad season where he only managed 13 mainly down to unjury, Kewell is easily capable of scoring 15 a season, he got 11 last season and had a poor season playing in a team that wasn't playing brilliantly, Murphy always gets around 10 goals and has achieved 13 goals as a seasons highest in the top league and Gerrard is capable of 10 goals a season. Ok Maybe Gerrard was stretching it a bit.

Now shut up and run along and don't try to take the ****** as it was a perfectly reasonable poll due to the reasons stated above.

Stu,

dont be stupid.

If Murphy, pongolle, Kewell or gerrard, get anywhere near Owen Baros or Cisse, I'll eat my hat.

You are just being an idiot. and you know it.

Owen baros or cisse, would have to be injured for the whole season, for any of the others to even come close. But you carry on believing that it might be a close race.....................................NOT!!!!!!!

Gotta be Owen

Hopefully the pressure will be of him a bit, with Baros playing so well at Euro 2004 and Cisse coming in.

Owen's total's since he first burst onto the scene.

97-98 - 1 goal
98-99 - 23 goals
99-00 - 13 goals
00-01 - 24 goals
01-02 - 28 goals
02-03 - 28 goals
03-04 - 19 goals

Bearing in mind the only seasons he's never reached 20 goals are the ones where he was out for at least 10 weeks of the season. This is why posts like these annoy me. They are knowledgeless and fickle and simply ignore the facts.

I stated my reasons for posting what i did and it was perfectly valid. The only idiots around here are the ones who can't see the point of me posting the other players.

Like i said, Gerrard is a bit far fetched but the others have both scored 13 goals in a season which at one point is the same as Owen got and he was the top goalscorer.

I don't think it will be close at all.

Owen will get 25+
Cisse and Baros around 14-17
Kewell around 12-15
Murphy and Gerrard around about 7 or 8

But there was plenty of logic in posting the others. Like i said, Baros' best total is 12, Cisse may do a Heskey, Owen may have an injury hit season...

Now as i said before... run along...

Moneys got to be on Owen. He gets criticised a lot on this Forum but the man keeps on in there.  The main thing I hope for is the three strikers look to work with each other regardless of who is in the starting line up.

Tenner on Owen putting Rooney in his place in the first derby match as well
