It is very difficult to accept Cisse for his strengths on the basis that he doesn't really have any that can't be counted on more than two fingers.
1. Pace
2. Powerful Shot
I am now struggling to add to the list in all honesty!
He doesn't read the game or anticipate what his team-mates are going to do and his vision is terrible along with a lazy attitude and poor positional sense.
Quite where a fee of £10,000,000 will come from for a player with such limited ability is completely beyond me.
If Cisse lost his pace he would be effectively a pub-standard footballer. Even most players at that level can manage to control the ball once in a while!
The £14,000,000 outlay from Houllier is an absolute travesty and I would honestly be amazed if we were able to claw back £3,500,000 that Man City are claimed to be ready to offer.
What exactly would they be getting in return for their £3,500,000??
Pongolle is leaving for a fee in the region of £2,700,000 and I actually think he is a better footballer than Cisse quite comfortably.

At the end of the day he actually only managed to score 9 Premiership goals which Dirk Kuyt has managed this season.
Cisse didn't manage a goal against any of the big clubs in the Prem because he is ineffective when coming up against the better defenders even with his phenomenal pace.
Houllier paid £14,000,000 for a £2,000,000 - £3,000,000 player and unfortunately that is something we are going to have to swallow when it comes to cashing in on him.
When we signed Cisse I was expecting someone capable of replacing the void left by Owens departure.
Seeing Cisse in action made me want to believe that this was an unfunny 'Beadles about' stunt and that someone would say 'just kidding!!.......here is the real Cisse!!'..as his body double that obviously isn't a footballer is taken away and the man that we paid £14,000,000 for is finally introduced to us.
Nobody is going to pay us more than what Cisse is worth and if Stuart Pearce thinks that £3,500,000 is good business for Manchester City....more the fool him!

And what about Bellamy? Has Kuyt reached the target his Manager set him?
Just for the record how many goals have Bellamy or Kuyt scored v the big sides? Kuyt hasnt scored 1 CL goal which for me is pretty poor.

the difference in kuyt and bellamy to cisse is that they work theiroff for the team and dont start wandering round shrugging their shoulders or waving their arms around like magnus pike if a pass misses them by two yards or something.

will not despute that at all. my question is do they offer anymore when it comes to scoring goals. I can see an argument with Kuyt but no way with Bellamy.
