Dellas the brilliant Greek defender done it tonight and is one of best players of the tournament.

I would urge Benitez to have a look at him and buy him and Dellas is the type of player that we need for Liverpool. He is abolutely superb player.

I think their right back Giourkas Seitaridis was even better. He stopped Figo and Ronaldo every time. He was good in the air, strong and very quick. He likes to go forward and provides good crosses. He is only 23 years old and plays for Panathinaikos. He is definately the player to sign.

seitaridis is going to porto next season unfortunately. as for dellas, it's amazing to think that he couldn't get a game at sheff utd under steve bruce. you look at him now and the guy oozes class. so much composure on the ball. clubs will be queuing up to sign him this summer.

He was superb. Good bit of business by Porto, sell Paulo Ferreira to Chelsea for £13m and bring this guy in. Ferreira looked awful for Portugal in the games against Greece.

A lot of teams will be looking at Dellas, great tournament but I'd be worried about buying someone because of performances in finals. Look at Diouf and Diao.

we really need a centre half with PACE. i' can't really remember if dellas had pace or not. he never really utilised it in the tournament. that audacious flick over the attackers head on his own bye line was class though.

Good player but not enough pace!
He was great for a defensive team but i wouldnt want to see LFC to play that way!
They reminded me of a George Graham arsenal team!

i want to see good football but hey, if we played defensive football but won every game 1-0, i'd take it. fortunately benitez's team at valencia had the ability to attack and defend to equal effect. if we bring the right players in i can see a more attractive open syle of football next season.

ERm....im wondering whether LUCIO(bayern leverkusen) is a better player then DELLAS... ive seen both players played b4 and c that both are good in the air... LUCIO to me is way faster than DELLAS... both have such a commanding presence at the back.. but i think LUCIO attacks too... covering the gaps left by the middle while they attack...

The whole Greek team played magnificient for each other to win the tournament but can anybody honestly say they would like to see Greek players at Anfield next season?

Senegal had a decent World cup look who we got from them

I had to laugh when Schmichael declared after the final that Dellas is one of the best defenders in the world, when he blatelntly had never heard of him 3 weeks ago

at the end of the day i'd rather sign players who have proven reputations, not ones who have had one good tournament. dellas looked good, but that must surely attributed to the fact that greece had to defend a lot in games.

Totally agree, the Greek team are good as a unit. As individual players there are better available.

He's easily as good as Hyypia.

He didn't simply "have a good tournement". He shown his ability which is top class. There is a difference in playing well (Ufalujsi and Maniche) and being a class act (Dellas and Gerrard).
