I haven't played any of it yet online Paul, I normally finish the single player mode before moving on to multi player.

Anyway, I've included my gamertag in my sig for the first time. I've been reluctant before as it has my real name (or does it? ) but f.cuk it.  :pirate

Get the premium. Play.com currently has a very good deal with Crackdown and Gears of War.

This is a great deal Dawson. It comes with a hard drive, which in my opinion is a necessity. This Premium edition is about 90 quid more expensive than the basic core edition (with no games) but it is well worth it as you get:

1. Wireless gamerpad.
2. 20 gig hard drive.
3. Headset.
4. Crackdown.
5. Gears of War.

some more (condensed) info on GTA4 here.

tbh, i do enjoy the mindless ott action in the series. Pinches of salt are compulsory...

but am i right in suggesting, this version may well step into hitherto unbreached territory, with the realism ramped up way beyond the mere 'fun to do' atmosphere...In favour of a more disturbing element. Or is that just me geting older and more exposed to the kind of titles that now pervade everyones mature rated wish list..

The GTA games bore me now, I can never be ar5ed playing the missions and end up running around being chsed by the po-lice, it's just a 'kool' game to have and thats why most people buy it.

Incidentally, I bought a PS2 about two years ago and have scarsely ever used it. However, I've been reading reviews of God of War 2 and it seems to be a great game. I picked up Resident Evil today very cheaply and was wondering what are the best games on the PS2 (aside from the really big names like GTA and Metal Gear Solid).

oh i dont know paul.. they are entertaining enough. If a little cheesy. The sparse info we already have, is enough to make me buy it based on past encounters. San Andreas was one of only a handful of titles i actually completed 100%on the old system. If this offering is even half as representative as depicted in the trailer (in game engine?) i will definately find some more love for Rockstar on the 360.

I really hope that is the proper ingame engine and not touched up (ooh matron) shots of the engine to mislead the public (ala Killzone 2). If it is the real deal then GT4 is number one on my list for this autumn (ahead of Halo 3).
