No real match, I'll put this one to bed;

Bill did play in a few testimonials most notably Tom Finney's

He played competitively for us in the Liverpool Cup match against of all club's Everton during the war George Kay was the Manager.

In an interview with John Keith Bill commented that Kay walked up and down the row of players did'nt say anything, but if he tapped you on the shoulder you were playing.

Thus he played for the Reds in competitive match.

Henchoz didn't join them until around '97

Did win it with Leed's but is was the last of the "old" First Division Titles
