I see how last year he came second, but all hes done this year is been brought by a big club who hardly play him and gone to the world cup where he didnt play a second of football.

what idiots vote for people in these things?

No idea why he won it, he's done nothing yet.

Zara Phillips - again, I've no idea why she won.

The whole "BBC Sports Personality" thing is utter :censored:.

Theo Walcott won an award? For what? Sitting next to Sven on the bench while England pathetically, but hilariously flopped again?

Zara Phillips is good in her field (horse riding, I mean, not the field she grazes in) and that's great for her, but sports "personality?". What personality? I've never even heard her speak other than saying "thankyou for this award".

BTW- When she rides her horse, Manhattan has trouble telling which one is which.

Theo received a big push on votes from Gooners so he was always in with a shout for the Youngster's award.
They call it Sports Personality not because of the meaning of the word but so a s not to differentiate between Men and Women, it's all about achievement and Zara is way ahead of anyone in the world at her game right now so why not? It's been a pretty naff year for British sport, my own choice would have been Joe Calzaghe but I certainly wouldn't climb over Zara to get to him!!!

Zara Phillips is ok - you could knob her, then let little kids ride her up and down Blackpool beach. :D
