Are you jealous!?! :rasp

Going to watch Les Miserables (Matinee), and then Phantom of the Opera (evening).

I've seen Les Mis before, and I have to say it is the best thing I have ever, ever seen. Absolutely outstanding from start to finish.

I know Phantom won't be as good even before I watch it, but I guess it will still be brilliant. Only song I really know from that is "The Music of the Night".

The stage effects will obviously be much more "thrilling" than LEs Mis, but I suppose it lends itself to that more than the former.

Anyhoo - anyone aside from Mikz interested in the Musical theatre? (I know for a fact Mikz is!)

It's so much better than straight theatre, as I feel songs can convey feeling and emotion much better than simple dialogue.

What are your thoughts, people?

Iv never been mate, as I am an uncultured peasant. Sounds like you have a passion for the theater though mate, so I am sure you will have a great time. I hope so anyway.

I've only be to the theatre Twice and both times were in 2004 because my misses was over from Oz and wanted to experiance the theatres in London. To tell you the truth I wasnt looking forward to it, as I didnt think it was my cup of tea. The first show we saw was Stomp ! It was f.ucking brilliant, its a musical by a group of people on stage who make sounds with dustbin lids, brooms and all kinds of stuff, it really was excellent. The second time she wanted to see Jerry Springer, and after being to stomp I thought okay this will be alright, but I thought it was f.ucking s.hit! The misses loved it, but it was nothing compared to Stomp!

ive seen it 3 times (once in London/twice in Manchester) and i can categorically say...i blew me away :nod

. There was 7 of us went the last time (4 of em grown men) and not a dry eye was to be seen.. :no

. id go again tomorrow m8, its that engaging.

not seen Les Miserables, so i cant comment. Miss Saigon was my only other excursion into Luvvie land, and that was so-so.

Theres a reason why non musicals are called 'straight' theatre

So, finally coming down south to get some culture eh? I've been a fair few ties, and i got to admit that it is a decent night out. I got some package that included a night in some 5 star hotel in covent garden which the other half at the time totally loved and you will love it too lando.

my missus took me to see the lion king for my 25th. can honestly say it was one of the best nights ive had. really enjoyed it.

we had great seats on the isle, and at the start of the show, all the people animals come down the isles, through the crowd. it was awesome

I got my g/f tickets to see the Rocky Horror Show for her birthday!

She dragged me along unwillingly last friday!
After i got over the initial shock of seeing lots of men in the audience dressed as woman i have to say i really enjoyed it!

It was a great night out..in fact its 10 times better than a night in the cinema me thinks!

Plus Suzanne Shaw was running about the stage in her bra...fit as fook,shes a great voice in fact too which surprised me a bit!

Yep a few more trips to the Opera house for me!

Phantom is great too, it grew on me with the horror, mystery and romance altho my wife didnt find it romantic -let us know what you thought of this one brother.
