West kirby and hoylake area - Advice

Postby drummerphil » Tue Sep 20, 2005 12:49 pm

I grew up in west Kirby and left aged 9 because of my Dads work and ended up in Stoke on Trent.I,ve been back to the area several times in the last 12 months mainly to walk down the beach with the dog.
Recently we have been talking about moving back there because my Mrs now likes it too.
Anyone on here know the area well, what its like to live there nowadays i left nearly 30 years ago, average price of a 3 bedroom house etc.......
ANY INPUT WOULD BE HELPFUL

THANKS

Hoylake golf course is particularaly accomodating.

Me and Murrfff frequent it and they have a proper boss scran van atthe far end, lovely cafe and they will bring you beer's in a cooler in the back ofd a Galaxy anywhere on the course, you just call them up !!

nice place to bing up kids, the wirral way is on the doorstep 16 mile trail across the countryside, with nice views of N.Wales.Some decent pubs dotted around, but you will struggle to find any nightlife in West Kirby.

PS.Woof its hilbre island not Hilary you dumb mutt :p

It's strange how mispronounced/misheard names sometimes become the norm in everyday speech . As a kid we always referred to an area around Bidston Hill as "The Mopaly Paths " (the Mops for short ) when in fact it was originally named after a place in Greece "Thermopylae Pass " . Of course we didn't know that until we grew up and got some education .  :D

A nice little semi on the ford estate which is just up the road in Birkehead should be pleasant enough.
