i saw the movie today, i had read reports about danile craig and some bond fans slagging him before they even see the movie, but i enjoyed the film right the way through.

I am a bond fan and to be fair its refreshing to see a bond that actually looks like he can fight so he is convincing, he bleeds and gets a few kickings also. the film doesnt have many gadgets and so this makes it more realsitic,

anyway if you are a bond fan then you must go and see this, you will enjoy it

I saw it and I was impressed. I'm a big fan of Dalton's Bond because he was a more realistic, darker, brooding and human 007 and Craig has something of that in him with a bit more style. To slag something off before you've sampled it is ridiculous and D.C. is worth a watch and he certainly doesn't deserve much criticism. If I was being picky, I'd say that sometimes he seemed a bit too distant, but he makes a good replacement for Brosnan.
I'd give the film 8/10.

I usually hate bonds, stupid gadgets, corny one liners, women with stupid names etc but I am looking forward to this as I hear all that rubbish is gone (thank you Bourne identity for bringing bond into 21st century).

Brosnan and Moore both played Bond as a cartoon. Timothy Dalton was bland,

yeah mate its great without ridiculous gadgets, and the fights are realistic, although he still has is DB9. there is no Q and no moneypenny either.

its basically the story of bonds first case as a 00 agent. also watch out for a very brief glimpse of richard branson in miami airport at the metal detector    :D

i know its only his first bond movie but i think DC will be bond for a good years to come

i thought it was great, and it reminded me off some of the old classics, story line wise. It was also good to show an inexperienced bond on his first mission, without all the coolness and making mistakes. Daniel Craig is a good actor and certainly looks the part of bond, and i think he will do well.

I loved the movie

I agree with you peewee, this movie was realistic in a sense that it didnt have these fancy gadgets! I thought Daniel Craig was great! But that stunt man in the first really made my head light up! jeez!!! I loved that part! how the hell did he do that? How he climbed up building rods!

I forgot the actress' name who played Vesper.. but she was pretty hot!  :D

and Daniel Craig has some huge sholders! Im going to the gym and getting those shoulders!!

Danial Craig was also very good in "The Trench", a little-known, yet very accurate film about WWI.

Give it a whirl.

Just been to see it tonight, both me and the missus gave it the thumbs up, I liked the departure from too many gadgets, he's more like Ian Fleming intended him to be.... A bit of a cruel B*stard!!

I've seen it and thought it was very good. It is good that Bond isn't perfect. Fight scenes are excellent (bourne identity influence as I mentioned in earlier post), story line is good and the character development is strong too. You see the ego and lack of judgement, doubts, fears etc.

I think he will be the best bond of the lot (when he got the part I thought he was too ugly to be bond but probably adds more grit)

Top film!

I was slightly disappointed, TBH.  Probably had high expectations due to all the hype.  I thought the action sequences were brilliant...especially the construction yard stuff.  I did feel it plodded a bit through the poker game and then I just felt that the last third of the movie was unrealistic (in terms of Bond "reality", not real reality! :D).  I know he's a new agent and a bit green but, come on, he got taken to the cleaners way too easily by the femme fatale!  So a good, but not great, movie for me.
