Sony sold 88,400 PlayStation 3 consoles over the weekend in Japan according to Japanese magazine company Enterbrain, which publishes Famitsu.
The number falls around halfway between the 100,000 launch-unit target Sony was aiming for and the 80,000 figure reported in the Nikkei Shimbun prior to launch.
The best selling games were Namco Bandai's Ridge Racer 7 and Gundam: Target in Sight, both of which sold around 30,000 units.
The near-instant total depletion of hardware stock has led to a huge number of Internet auctions for so-called "used" PS3 consoles spring up, some with asking prices more than twice that charged by retail.
It's a trend that's even being felt in Europe.
Some web-based importers have decided not to sell the console to clients in the European Union after Sony enjoyed success in its attempts to stifle Hong Kong-based Lik-Sang, which went out of business recently.
But one London-based importer is known to be offering the console, along with its five launch titles, for GBP 1500.

What I don't understand is that why they went on sale in Japan on Saturday and they will go on sale to the USA next saturday and why Europe have to wait until march 2007 to get their hands on one of them without paying sill bollocks money?

for all us oldtimers out there i hav efound this free download, that includes the origionals of space invaders, pacman, asteroids, snake, tetris etc etc

Its a good time to buy a 360, its 12 months old and the game developers have had time to assess what the consoles capable of doing, we are currently starting to see the kind of titles being launch that lead to proverbial 'jaw-drop' COD3, Gears of War and Hawks 8 . Its also an all round entertainment centre, playing your ripped cds videos etc. We also have the HD DVD hardrive coming out in the next couple of weeks for, wait for it.....£130, no sh1t, so you can watch your HD dvds on your HD telly now.....for 130 dabs. Its also superb online with access to marketplace and live arcade, I could go on for ages. I could'nt live without mine

I couldn't agree more Neil, I love my 360, I've had it since January and have played PGR3 non stop for 11 months now, bought COD3 today (for my b'day) and it's a mint game, a big improvement on COD2 and the vehicles work even better than I expected, getting GOW on Friday so canna wait :buttrock

PS3 for £425 with no games or a 360 for £285 with Pro Evo 6.................................. Hmmmm let me think :;):

Bit of help guys please.
Ive just got aaron a pc for his birthday, with a 250mb video card for games, but the pc just reboots after a game has loaded what could be the problem?
Its a medion 3.6.

first of all i would try and re-install the game. Go to the applications menu, find the where the game is, and uninstall it.
Then reinstall.

If that doesn't work -

Look in the game cd (my computer-right click the cd icon and open). Look for any direct-x folder, install that.

or you can goto your control panel, right click the my computer icon, click properties, click the hardware tab, click device manager - then look for your graphics card. double-click the graphics card and choose the update driver option.

if all that fails, call the tech support number that should come with the game.

if you know how, i would suggest you re-install your video card. sounds like you have a conflict somewhere.

actually for that matter in sounds like your video card was never installed correctly in the first place, the should re-do it for you.

however i am afraid that is the limit of my knowledge. I will step aside and let the rest of the geeks in this thread offer their advice.

yes mate, it has pong, it has:

asteroids, space invaders, snake, frogger, pacman, tetris, hexagon, pong and tic tac toe.

i have been playing it all day, download it mate, it doesnt take long and just save to desktop
