What a BIG, BIG, BIG week! The Mancs are playing good stuff now and what a manager battle this is gonna be.... For ability, there's nothing to split the teams and we have the best player in the Prem'... as said before it comes down to belief and it's Rafa's job to instill that. We haven't become bad defenders overnight so come on boys, give us something to shout about this week....

i don't subscribe to this theory that the mancs are playing really well. ok they're playing well in patches but who have they played so far? the only decent side they've played is arsenal and they got turned over.

they haven't got better players than us. they've just got more of a ruthless streak than we have.

Agree with that. They are playing well but the fixture computer has been VERY kind to them. Can't say i really fancy our chances but then it's very rare for me to go into game against the mancs with any confidence (even when we're playing well.) Being the underdog for this one will suit us down to the ground. I fancy it to finish 1-1 and i would happily take that.

Saint, with the recent upsets, the players will be eager to get the show on the road and I'm sure that against the Wmanckers, we'll do alright, in fact i'll say even better than alright.

as i said earlier, it can work both ways. on one hand you can say that it's the last game we'd want after a run of indifferent form. however on the other hand you could say that it's an ideal game for the players to really get back on track.

we went to old trafford in 2001/2002 off a much worse run than this. we'd lost 4 games on the spin but then we went to old trafford with our backs against the wall and won 1-0 with a danny murphy goal. from that point on we went unbeaten until the end of the season and finished second.

the fact is, chances will be at a premium, so unlike last year when cisse fluffed two sitters, we need to make the most of whatever chances we create. i really hope that kuyt is fit for the game, as in many way's he's our rooney in that he plays in a very similar way.

Alex Ferguson is on his way to training one morning and, as usual, stops by Patrice Evra's house to give him a lift. He knocks at the door, only for it to be answered by a pale and drawn looking French superstar.
"Och, Evra. Your no looking too good this morning"
"Ah oui, Mr Ferguson, je suis under the weather"
"Ah no worries, you can have the day off today. Is there anythin' I can get youse?"
David asks Alex for some groceries and off Fergie goes to the training ground. On his way home he stops off at Tescos and who should he bump into but Rafael Benitez.
"A-ha, Senor Ferguson. What are you doing here?" asks the Reds boss.
"I've just got these here carrots for Patrice Evra"
"Ah, Senor Ferguson. You are indeed an exceptional businessman!"

A van driver used to amuse himself by running over every Manchester United fan he would see strutting down the side of the road in their ubiquitous red colours.

He would swerve to hit them and there would be a loud "THUMP" and then he would swerve back on the road. One day, as the driver was driving along, he saw a priest hitchhiking. He thought he would do a good turn and pulled the van over.

He asked the Priest "where are you going, Father?", "I'm going to say mass at St. Joseph's church, about 2 miles down the road" replied the priest. "No problem Father! I'll give you a lift"! climb in!"

The happy priest climbed into the passenger seat and the van continued down the road. Suddenly the driver saw a Manchester United fan walking down the road and instinctively swerved to hit him. But, just in time, he remembered the bloody priest, so at the last minute he swerved back to the road, narrowly missing the scum :censored:

, he still heard a loud "THUD." Not understanding where the noise came from, he glanced in his mirrors and when he didn't see anything he turned to the priest and said "I'm sorry Father, I almost hit that Manchester United fan.

"That's okay" replied the priest. "I got the :censored:

I'm still getting the horrible feeling that we might revert to 4-5-1 for this one, although I really hope we dont. I don't care what the league table says, they aren't great and if you have a go at them they can be vulnerable. The way to beat them is to attack them and exploit their weaknesses.

Unfortunately, I expect them to do what they've done the last three or four times we've played them, and sit back and try to counter attack. I hope they attack us, because it will give us more room to pick them off and their defence can be exposed if it isn't being protected by the midfield.

The games we've had with them recently have been sh#te. I reckon it'll be the same this weekend.

Whoever scores first will win.

just read on .tv that stevie is out of the bordeaux game with a hamstring twinge. Do we reckon this is to keep him fresh for united on saturday? and do you think we'll miss him in tonights game?

Manure are not really on fire right now but still I worry about our defence having the tendency to be very sloppy at marking and properly covering the opposition players who are latching on to crosses etc. would gift easy scoring chances to Manure (like the one Benni McCarthy got) which they would easily convert as their players are much more clinical.

It's a real mystery - largely the same players in defence from last season yet so big a drop in performance.

I'd take a clean sheet and a win by the odd goal, given our not-so-great present form.

The man u game will have nothing to do with form or confidence even. It is who wants it more. Always has been. Form goes out of the window for this one.

hypia will be up for it, as will our entire defence. Im pretty confident.... dunno why.

this could be the springboard to the rest of the season. A must win game if we want to show the rest of the table where we belong,and that place aint 9th!

We were poor against Bordeaux yet we managed to get 3 points.As for the Manure game, same as azriahmad, i'm worried about our back 4. The key to win the game is to have a cleen sheet against them. I just hope that our defence didnt make silly mistakes like other premiership matches this season.
