Iran wouldn't dare. Its the excuse the US would need to declare ware on Iran, Iran would be obliterated.

dubya's got his finger on the big red button, foaming at the mouth sweating with anticipation that syria or iran might join the conflict. he's looking for the tiniest excuse to annihilate those 2 countries (the world's got wise to him making up excuses a la iraq & the non existent WMD's so even he will wait for a bit of provocation this time)

i've no idea what the solution to the current problem is (if indeed there is a solution) but what's going on there now is shocking, not to mention a right pain in the @rse cos it's pushed up the price of super unleaded :angry:

don't forget israel has one of the most powerful militaries on the planet and aren't overly shy about using it either, even without the US no middle eastern country would dare take on the israelis in a conventional war. WITH US support it would be curtains for any other country involved

feckin bonkers the middle east, i wonder what would happen if there wasn't any oil there though?

My point was that without the US in general Israel would be nobodys. The US armed Israel single handedly not to mention their underlying support for them in any politic issues. Tony Blair won't defy ther US because there isn't a better protection than having the world most powerful nation as an ally. The US as our ally is the school equivalent of being mates with the hardest kid at school - no one ever trys to start.

Yeah but the hardest kid in school always ends up ghetting slapped by people who think they are harder. plus the 'friends' of the hardest kid in school can get attcked just by knowing him

yeah, just like north korea now have weapons of mass distruction but the yanks havent invaded them, i wonder why?

oh i know, because they have no oil and quite possible the main reason is that they would spank the good old US of A into next week

Blair looks so weak on this. George Bush does not care what "Tony" thinks unless it is in agreement.

Blair cons himself that it is an alliance but it is really just britain being subservient to USA. How can Blair NOT call for an immediate ceasefire?

Its true that N Korea are a nuclear power but they don't have any strategic advantage. The big nuclear powers all have geographic advantage - they can strike any continent in the world, whereas North Korea can only just about reach the outskirts of Alaska.

Somehow I can't see the US being spanked as you put it

I think PeeWee's assertion about North Korea spanking the USA was based on the US invading North Korea . North Korea's ability to launch intercontinental nuclear warheads therefore doesn't enter the arguement . There's no way America could beat North Korea without resorting to the use of nuclear weapons , and that is never going to happen .

Millions have died in Africa as well, no one did anything about that. The only reason this is getting more coverage is that more fancy weapons are being used. All I know right now that both Hizballah and Israel are commiting Terrorist attrocities that is doing Humaniterian destruction. I had enough of the killing and destruction or calling hizballah terrorists and blah blah blah, both hizballah and the state of Israel are now terrorists.

Good news today that Israel vowed to stop the bombing for 2 days so it will give enough time for trucks that carries medicine and food supplies to deliver the goods to the people who are stuck in the south of lebanon. This is still not enough as the Lebanese Government does not want to talk anymore until a cease fire happens (this happened after Qana).

Bush and Blair really need to get a room! FFS! :no
