i've no doubt hezbollah aren't exactly angelic little cherubs who wouldn't hurt a fly but israel's actions are barbaric and a ridiculous over-reaction to 2 soldiers being taken hostage

Couldn't agree more. I heard that an estimated 300 Hezbollah fighters have been killed, but Israels grossly disproportionate attack on an almost defenceless country must have recruited thousands to their ranks.

Im embarrassed by Britains stance on the issue to date. Widespread bombing of a nation is such a crude way to attack a terrorist organisation, and potentially destabilising for the whole region.

I don't think this situation is as black and white as many would see it. Imagine we were surrounded by muslim contries some of which sent suicide bombers to kill us. I know israel does not help itself but but i don't agree that this is helping hezbollah's PR machine because they will always have people supporting them in those contries.

I agree, israel has gone completely over the top in its response. But another thing we must remember is that Hezbollah and Hamas want the complete detruction of Israel, so you can't really talk to them.

Because Israel was created on land which the Arabs already populated.

The only solution is the destruction of the zionist state!!!

Grumbine said "I'm here to find a lasting peaceful solution to this terrible problem, if I can score some good sh.it and maybe get laid a few times along the way then that's a bonus, although if we could both get sides thinking along those lines it may be the solution"  :eyebrow  :kungfu:

Israeli border strike 'kills 28'

An Israeli air strike to Beqaa (near Lebanon's north-eastern border with Syria) has killed at least 28 people and injured about 20, Lebanese officials have said.

Turkish press reported that all of these 20 died people were farmers loading vegetables to the trucks

Israeli planes have carried out strikes across Lebanon, destroying bridges in mainly Christian areas north of Beirut. 4 bridges are destroyed and that prevents the aid of UN in the area  :no

Errrreeeeeeee………Hezbollah was born out of an illegal occupation of Lebanon by Israel. Hezbollah eventually fought Israel out of southern Lebanon in 2000, Israel is just :censored: by the fact that they have been forced to withdraw from Lebanon.

2 uniformed soldiers were captured in a disputed territory, what is still effectively a war zone, an area that Lebanon claims is there’s, the UN state is Syria’s, so what the hell has it got to with Israel? If they genuinely desired peace they would retreat out of these areas and build strong defences on its borders, but it continues to violate international law and create tension.

I have always maintained that Israel has a right to exist and defend itself against people who wish to eliminate it. But they don’t help themselves at all and are often the aggressors. They need to change attitudes over the long term, violence will not do this, they need to create solid borders and not violate air space and occupy the territory of others, most of the Muslim population would have no problem with Israel if this were to happen, and over time the attitude of the hard cores would change, it’s a long process but it is the only Israel can give its children peace.

2 Soldiers were captured by an opposition army, to uniformed soldiers, in a war zone and disputed territory. Remember, Israel were the first to put civilians at risk by launching attacks into Lebanon, Hezbollah rockets attacks were only a response to this, so you tell me who started this? Neither Hezbollah or Israel are angels, but Hezbollah get called “Terrorists” even though Israelis were the first to put civilians at risk. If Israel were worried about there soldiers, they would have bargained the releases of them just like they have done many times in the past, without doubt there is more to the attitude of the Israel government.
