Kun ru dai yangai kao ruak kun "Marvin Haggler" ?
i walk up and say, pom chu marvin haggler, ra ka thao rai.
then when they give the price i say paeng bai, lot noi dai mai
then they will take about 100 baht off when really i want them to divide the price by four. so i laugh and give them the price i want to pay until we reach agreement, usually less than half that they ask for origionally.
actually i also learnt the symbols for thai numbers as a lot of places i visit have the price in thai and in english, when you know the thai numbers you can see foreigners are expected to pay twice as much as locals. this happened when i went the zoo. mostly they use the same numbers as us unless they are charging foriegners more then they use thai number for thai price and our numbers for our price
.Christ ! I ended up wearing some horrible lookin' shirts (although Wooly would have been proud of them).

A short story from Rafa-Dodd
Normally a lovely lie in for the rest of the World unless you love going to church, or unless you live in Boliva and you pick coffee beans or something. I used to love Sundays when a few years ago, lie in till me nan's nagging to get up actually worked (normally took a least 10 rants at me ) life was brilliant I was at one with the earth. There was peace in my soul.
However in the present day, I am sitting here with an un ironed shirt due to my poor time keeping, selling loads of tickets to really rich folk going to watch the golf. How many of you have stacks of £50 notes in your wallet?
I hardly ever have £50 notes, maybe Xmas or birthdays, I am not kidding people our coming through here with wads and wads of £50. The Open is definetly bringing money here.
Its getting really boring though and I am longing for my bed. I miss my bed so so much. I didn't even get to sleep in it last night due to my birds sister staying and saying she wanted to sleep with her sister, I had to make do witha matress on the floor downstairs and my pillows kept falling over the end. How annoying it that. I hate that also.
However my supervisor has just gave me a pack of space raiders, I like space raiders there nice. But not as nice as Monster munch. I need a drink to have them though and the shop opposite is not open. Gutted. I love a five alive right now it would make my sunday a whole lot better.
I don't finish till 4pm and its only 10.46 now. The hours are dragging and I feel a steg in my un ironed shirt. I am going to enjoy myself tonight though. I went to watch Pirates of the Carribean last night and although it was so so I still wish I was a pirate back in the old days. I'd be Captain Dodd and I would rule the sea. Anyways as I was saying I went to watch Pirates and the night was ok but the film went on too long as as I was in work at 6 I only had 4 hours sleep so tonight I iz gonna have a banging nite, wazza!!
I don't know whether to go out to Hoylake or Liverpool, or stay in Birkenhead, theres no bizzies out though in Birkenhead because there all at the Open trying to get in the Echo lol. I might stay in I have got a crate of Super Bock and a few bottles of vino so I don't know.
I am tired.
, but hey you wirral boy's are doing a sterling job and are providing a good service for all the passengers going to the Open. Chin up ace and keep fighting

Being as she was a local I used to let my missus do all the shopping.Christ ! I ended up wearing some horrible lookin' shirts (although Wooly would have been proud of them).
I know what you mean about the multi tier price system , it's always been there but back in the 70's it wasn't quite so bad as there were virtually no tourists at that time .
I was gobsmacked when the started charging foreigners for entrance to places like Wat Phra Kao . The little f'uckers don't miss a trick
