Looking Forward - Replacement For Morientes?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Have been told that Rafa has made a 8.5 mil + Neil Mellor Bid for Andy Johnson. Not sure about the reliability of the source. It was no secret that Rafa was interested last season.

Personally Im not sure about Johnson, apart from 1 good premiership campaign I dont think he has done anything to justify such a fee.

How much is it? It's not £10million like Andy Johnson is it?

Finally, someone's talking sense!

No disrespect to those posters who enjoy the mental gymnastics that come with predicting and pontificating on possible transfers but it's all just so much wanking as far as I'm concerned.  Hell, half the posts in these threads are people creaming their pants over a player that they've never seen, based on the pants-creaming posts made by others...it's madness!  I'm definitely in the 'sit back and let Rafa sort it out' camp.

Of course, if the Morientes experience has taught us anything it's that we shouldn't get too carried away with any transfer targets, even after we've signed them.  You never can be sure how a player will adapt to the league (if coming from overseas), the team and to the special pressures inherent to pulling on that red shirt.  I've faith in Rafa to find us top targets but even he doesn't have the midas touch with every transfer.  I'm not advocating lower expectations here...just some realism.

Take a breath people, the season's only been over for a fortnight and we still have the WC to come!  God, this transfer wankfest is going to take on ludicrous proportions once that starts...it's going to be a long summer.  :help

I can't say I've heard of the player or that Club.

I have however heard of a young 17 yr old called Sergio Aguero and he plays for an Argentine club called Independiente.

i hope not, they've accepted a couple of 8.5 million offers alone...why would we pay more?  ???

You've taken what I said about of context, I was referring to those :censored: who were slagging off Crouch and set up an Anti Crouch website. :D

There is a small chance he may return guys.

"Now he is talking to Valencia and if he doesn't reach an agreement it's still possible he'll come back here. But we have an agreement between the clubs and now it's up to Fernando to decide. If he does go we will thank him for his work here."
