I'm off to Athens on Thursday for a weeks break.It's over 20 years since I was last in Athens and the place was a fuking ruin then ,hopefully the've finished rebuilding it by now . (Especially that eyesore on top of that big f'uck off hill

)

Seriously though , anybody got any recommendations for restauarants ,bars, and other places of interest in Athens that might be worth a visit ? .

Havent been to Athens been to Rhodos think all the greek islands are similar, lovely place spotless, but the food and nightlife was cr@p, you know me I wana party all night but it wasnt possible as there was only resturants and no all night places open :down:

So I just went to the little bar over the road from the hotel and made the bar man serve me all night :buttrock

No wonder my local kebab man (Stavros) always looks so f*cked ,and there was me thinking his other job was driving a cab .

While you're there, you should try and get out to Delphi where there used to be a temple and oracle dedicated to Apollo (very important in ancient Achian and Roman mythology). It's in the hills and has a stadium and ampitheatre. Very impressive.

ive been to Athens, but was a long time since. However, about 100 yards from that big hill

, there is a restaurant called ''mikeys'' or something like that, i may have the name wrong, but its only small, but the food as i remember was great. The following my bowels were ok, so its safe woof

Lonely Planet has never let me down yet

A friend of mine worked there for six months but that was about ten years ago, theyve had the olympics since and I assume a lot of things have changed.
