It may have escaped your attention that we are having our best season at the same time that Arsenal are having one of their worst for many years.... As a Liverpool supporter I always look forward to the next match believing that we can win. Even in the down times I'd have faith in the players and the boss as the best we had at the time and that maybe this game they'd turn it on and show us what the mighty Liverpool can do. If I didn't think there was a chance of us winning I'd wonder what the point of it all might be...

I take it you wont bother to watch the game then Ciggy...

I think we will draw in this game.

Would be happy if we won but with our current form with our strikers i doubt it.
We seem to be able to do everything but score in most of our matches. Unless its a midfield player like Kewell or Gerrard.

Firstly whenever we are underdogs we win. Most are expecting us to lose at Arsenal.

Second and more importantly, it is the law of averages. EVENTUALLY WE WILL SCORE. This will be the game, and Fowler will be the man. We are already dominating games so that will not go away now we will find the net.

An honest opinion is a valuable thing, but not more valuable than faith. When you have faith and your ship comes in it feels much sweeter.

People are putting too much stock in statistics. We may well not have done great in London this season, our record at Highbury has been poor in recent years, and our strikers have almost universally failed since Christmas, but these are runs and records that are made to be broken.

It's the last time we'll play them at Highbury, and I don't think they're going to go unbeaten there between now and the end of the season. We'll shade it by the odd goal, and - if everyone is looking to omens for the fixture - I back Fowler to continue his phenomenal record against the Gunners. Arsenal have struggled to put two good performances back-to-back all season.

Nobody said there was no chance of winning - go back and check the thread.
I don't know where you're from but I know loads of Reds who think we'll get beat tomorrow. Call it pessimism if you like.
But it wont stop us watching and still longing for a win.

Football and esp football forums are all about opinions - some people think we''ll win, some draw, some lose.

So are you one of those nuggets who says "We'll thrash 'em" before EVERY game even if it's Chelsea away or whatever?

As I say, we all have opinions.

at finishing hes a good team player and its set for robbie to get his 1st since he came back as long as he dont play morientes ill be happy

Gerrard Hamman Alonso Kewell
Garcia Crouch

If Hyypia is not fit. Hamman can do Sissoko's job competently.

Equal best defence in the league, one of the world's best midfield combinations and a strike force that has scored more than 600 career goals between them against an inconsistent (though dangerous) Arsenal suggests to be that we have as good a chance as anyone at Highbury.

I don't mean to be disrespectful toward you and Ciggy but I do feel some people are overly pessimistic. All this talk about us not being able to win unless Morientes, Garcia, Cisse and even Crouch are never allowed near the first team again does my head in - that's all.

But its not what we think, it's what we actually see happening on the pitch. it happens again and again and again.

Also, at half time in Istanbul i didnt switch over. I said to my dad shell shocked about the LFc that didn't turn up........
"remember what kenny dalglish once said, it only takes a second to score a goal." and right on cue, LFC score 3 in 6 mins.

OK slate me or call me whatever you like. But we will all be here again after the match on Sunday Eve, and we'll all talk about how I was so right yet again.

Its not the result I want to happen, its what i think will actually happen

Last time Arsenal failed to score V LFc at Highbury, was Feb 2000. Six years ago. SO Arsenal can score....Can we?

I just cant see us walking away with the three points in this one. WBA at home, ok yes.

THE Champions League proved its unpredictability once again as Liverpool crashed out to Benfica, and Arsenal prevailed against Real Madrid to become the only British team left in the competition. The Arsenal players will still be on cloud nine after a famous triumph, but they’ll come crashing down to earth if they aren’t focused for this one.
You only need to go back two weeks to see what happened last time the Gunners played a Premiership match following a great result against Madrid – they lost 1-0 against Blackburn.
Liverpool, like Blackburn, represent a completely different type of challenge to Madrid. They’re experts at stifling the opposition and won’t let Arsenal play their game like Madrid did, a point proved when these sides met at Anfield a few weeks back, where Arsenal hardly created a chance. The Reds also have a huge point to prove after their pride was wounded by Benfica, although an early Arsenal goal would probably knock the wind out of their sails.
Liverpool are still suffering from a lack of confidence in the final third, but they control the midfield in almost every game they play, and Arsenal may struggle to cope in this area – Cesc Fabregas will need to prove he can shine in this type of game too. Arsenal won this corresponding fixture 4-2 in 2004, and 3-1 in May 2005, but with the way Liverpool set themselves up defensively these days, a high scoring game seems highly unlikely.
Liverpool will inevitably continue to be wasteful in front of goal, but Arsenal will have to fight hard to beat the Reds. In the wake of the Champions League results, Liverpool have begun to drift – if they continue to do so they’ll look very good value.

Seems like a fair assessment - hope it doesn't end up like Man U away.
