ARSENAL VS LIVERPOOL - Keep your heads up!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby dawson99 » Fri Mar 10, 2006 10:36 am

Its been a nice change seeing the build up between our two teams who are actually getting along quite well. thiery Henry has been so complimentary about us last season and the bitchiness has gone. Henry is quoted as stating our commaradary and togetherness is a great example of great football when we won the champions last season.

On a different note, we need to do things differently. Mori cant play again, it just isnt worknig for him, but if we dont play him now it will never work. We need to take advantage of there make shift left back and play cisse on the right wing as he ahs the pace to get in and could forge a good partnership with finnan. People also need to take the pressure of stevie g as he cant do it all and if it continues like this then come summer he will be in the papers as a transfer target all over again.

Kewell had a bad game last week but has been awesome recently so he needs the crowd behind him, as does the entire team and this is a game which i personally cant wait for

Sendros hates pace.  He struggles greatly against pace.  Bellamy gave him a torrid time.  Play Cisse through the middle for once and get him on the shoulder of Sendros.

I`m confident we`ll bounce back against arsenal.Just hope we put away a few chances cos i think we will definately get a fair few. This is the line up i would go for:

                             reina

       finnan   carragher   hyppia   riise

       gerrard   hamann   alonso   kewell

                    fowler     crouch

I always like to see didi playing against the bigger sides gives us a bit of extra protection, saying that i would prefer to see gerrard in the centre but we haven`t got anyone as good as gerrard to play down the right. COME ON YOU REDS!

           Gerrard          Didi            Xabs          Kewell

                               Fowler

The exact same line up I'd go with.

How many times has Djibril played up top this year? None! Give him one last chance to show what he can do upfront.

It's also the ideal game for Didi, can't be playing Luis, surely.

Prediction, 1-0, Fowler.

i think Liverpool have something to prove after thier performance against Benfica but the only player i can see scoring would probably be Fowler after all his goals so far have been disallowed

it'll be 0-0 coz rafa will tell finnan to hang bk coz of the threat of henry. the reason we havent missed havin a rite mid is because finnan has be doinin so well. and if he does play morientes hopefully he wont ait till 70mins to substitue him. why were garcia and mori left on the pitch on wednesday nite for so long they 're worse than scholl boys

This is a must win game!
Sunday is a huge day for LFC...basically i feel if the scum beat Newcastle and we fail to win at Arsenal we can kiss goodbye to second place and automatic qualification for the C/L!
Personally i wont be too upset finishing 3rd even though behind the scum, its 2 places better than last year!
Saying that piping them to 2nd place would be sweet and its still possible although not entirely in our own hands may happen !

The one thing that is more important to me at the minute and would make me happy is seeing our team go out there starting Sunday and playing like they believe in themselves!I so want our strikers to find the shooting boots and for the team to finish the season on a high, happy and playing with confidence!
When i see teams like Wigan play with the likes of Roberts up front or West Ham with Harewood it hurts me to think that teams considered a lot less in stature than us are causing some of the best defences in the country problems and doing what we cant...score goals!!

Back to Sunday and being honest i feel that after our last 2 performances we have a hard job on our hands!
Arsenal defended emmensly against Madrid on Wednesday night a team renouned for scoring goals!Im sure they feel that playing goal shy LFC will be a walk in the park compared to that! Lets hope our boys can prove them wrong!Time will tell!
Lets hope Raffa fields the best side possible and sets them out to attack and make chances and hopefully a striker or 2 can get a goal!
4 strikers have not scored a goal between them in ages...surely Sunday is the day!!

erm well if we play like we did at Anfield we will p*ss on them again high tempo and rafa keeps talking about rotating his squad then why wont he drop crouch and give cisse a dam cance up front.fowler up front with cisse. im sick of people saying we never bought crouch to score , we bought him to hold the ball up it doin me hed in

Statistics aside, I cannot see us beating them at Highbury, full stop.
No matter who we play up front, no combination is likely to work. also they will be on a high.

I'll bet anyone, £50 we dont win, and if we do score it will be no more than one goal from a midfielder. This signs are getting so predicatable now its like a soap opera. we are too predicatable up front and easy to defend against.

Gerrard or Alonso for LFC.
I am and LFC fan, but im not one of the many "dreamers" in here. below is a more realistic outcome.

ill say, 2-0, or 2-1 arsenal. or 1-1 at best for us.
