Looking at JB's comment again I guess it's the use of the word "retarded that has upset some people in here . If for example he had said .

then perhaps the reaction from some members would not have been so vociferous .

I  think that political correctness can be extremely dangerous and damaging  .Tolerance and freedom of speech are essential pillars of any healthy and democratic society and in many instances so called imposed political correctness is nothing more than censorship enforced by an aggrieved section of society. The reaction of many muslims to a recently published cartoon featuring their prophet is an example of how extreme some people can become when their sensibilities are "offended" .
At the other end of the scale JBG whom I believe to be a decent upstanding guy has used a word that many have found offensive,I certainly find the word used distasteful but lets have a little perspective here , the use of the word "retarded" surely doesn't put JBG in the same category as a racist just as some members objections don't belong to the mob of fanatics demonstrating against the cartoon depiction of their prophet.

JBG should perhaps be more tactful in future in the meantime as a commited supporter of a free and tolerant society I can only quote Voltaire.
"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. "



ps ,those f'ucking rag heads demonstrating in London with signs saying
"Europe you will pay , Bin Laden is on his way"
Should all be rounded up and shot
