Rooney

The Premiership - General Discussion

Rooney played amazing against us yesterday, he defended better than anyone else in the united squad and was nearly always back to cover for his defence. i feel that if our strikers had the energy and stamina that he has to be able to run up and down the pitch all night and defend as well as attack then we would be far better off. he was well worth the money for united.

Sap' I don't know if you're a wind-up Man U supporter (and sincere apologies if you're not) but even if you are, though your point is a fair one it is siomewhat stating the obvious it seems to me. I thought Rooney was relatively quiet yesterday but you're quite right, littered in amongst his innefectiveness were moments of class, quality and determination to draw admiration from all but the most hard-nosed Liverpool supporter. It's not that surprising, though he plays for Manure and is an Evertonian like most lovers of football I think he is an absolutely fantastic footballer. His tackle at the end was terrible (though not a sending off IMHO) but if your point is that our team would be improved if we had Rooney then I would suggest you can ditto in nearly every team in World football.

i thought all 20 outfield players were too quiet last night. has it got to the point where a no score bore draw is that important due to cheatski that we play the worst football against the best teams?

Having seen that tackle again on sky sports news this morning i cant believe that the little :censored: wasnt given his marching orders. He knew he wasnt getting near the ball and quite simply that tackle was reckless on Pongolle. He could have been out the game for a long time.

I agree with your comments re. Rooney Sapper and fans on here ought not to jump all over serious discussion about the opposition.

Apart from the obvious bad challenge on Pongo Rooney had a very good game and showed our forwards a thing or three about defensive duties  :Oo:
