Yesterday while browsing the sports dvds in my local dvd shop here in Canada I stumbled across this dvd titled Liverpool Football Club The final and the road to Istanbul. Needless to say I picked it up. I had taped the game back on may 25 but had always wished I had a dvd copy. If you don't already own this I highly recommend it. The first disc has pre-match build up, the entire game with extra time and penalties, celebration and some footage of the homecoming victory parade. Having all this on a dvd to watch over and over is worth it initself, but this collection also includes a second disc with highlights from every game up until the final. The only thing I didn't like about this was on some of the away game highlights they have these two lame looking graphics on the sides making the viewing area smaller. It also kind of cheapens the feel of the production. The sound is dolby digital but only 2 channel. The video is decent essentially just the way it looked on tv. There are no extras on the discs. It would have been nice to have some footage of previous european triumphs but I'm probably asking for too much. All in all a great dvd, if you have the game on vhs like I did, it is really nice having it on dvd to rewind and play back. Good times.
