Cannot believe zak's gone to millwall

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Thu Nov 24, 2005 2:30 pm

Zak Whitbread has joined Millwall today on loan till the end of the season  .
Why has he been loaned out to that shower of :censored:, why has our club done them a favour?
There violence and ugly abusive chants over Hillsborough would be enough for LFC not to do business with such a club, and their hooligan fans.
Why is the club paying his wages to play for them?
Its probably safe to say he wont ever make it into the first team now, and will probably be sold to a first division side I imagine.

I doubt it beacsue Rafa would not have chosen to renew his contract at the begining when all the other youngsters were shown the door.

WHITBREAD COMPLETES MILLWALL LOAN SWITCH
Mark Platt 24 November 2005
Liverpool defender Zak Whitbread has today joined Championship side Millwall on loan.
The initial deal, which begins with immediate effect, lasts until January 3rd and will then be extended until the end of the season.

After breaking into the senior side last season, Academy graduate Whitbread has made just three appearances this term and will see this move has a chance to gain further first team experience.

What i meant i doubt hes not in Rafas plans for the future. If we wanted him out he would have gone at the begining of the season when the other academy players were told their contracts would not be renewed,

They did what? :O , even the Real Madrid supporters, or Atletico Madrid's who are scum and son of a bitch wouldn't dare to do that. Atletico Madrid's hooligans killed one of our supporters as he was with the girl friend, and some son of a bitch cheered the "knife that killed Aitor", but tbh honest they were booed by the whole stadium.

Here the violence is not increasing, but when I go away with my team, I keep going with the most "dangerous" (1) supporters of my team. It's actually safer to go with them, because a) you're scorted by the police b) the scum  of ultranationalist that hate us because we're basques won't dare to touch us in big groups

The perception from abroad, is that in england violence is disappearing, am I right?

most of the violence in England has gone. Far more stewards and police at games nowadays, better segregation of away support, the lack of terraces, overall better crowd control management, the banning of known thugs from all football grounds and the change in demograhic of supporters (now moving away from a working man's game to a more middle class crowd) has seen a large decline in violence.

It still happens, though. Last weekend some Everton fans caused damage to a pub in West Brom, and a female steward was sexually assaulted by some UTD fans at Charlton.

You can read about it here Sabre, but they are a horrible club anyway.
Id wish Zak all the best where ever he goes but not there.

He will certainly learn more at Millwall than he will playing for our reserves, though I can understand some fans reluctance to "do them a favour". It probably is about even this "doing a favour" thing though, as it puts young Zak into the shop window at just about the level he will play most of his career in my opinion. I have said a couple of times that I think he lacks the ability to make the step into the Premiership on a permanent basis, though he could well have a good career slightly further down the food chain.
This move would also suggest that our search for a number three centre-back is probably over and the deal as good as done and dusted. Purely based on persistent media speculation my bet would be on that Daniel Agger fella, from Denmark I think.

zak needs first team experience, and he also needs to beef up. he'll be able to do both things at millwall so i for one wish him good luck and hope he comes back to us a better player

Yes Mick, Daniel Agger is a Dane and plays for Brondby.
As you said, Zak just isn't good enough for the Liverpool first-team. He has limited ability, and he seems to suffer in aerial battles, which is a massive no-no for a CB in the Prem.

Sadly, but for me at least, unsuprisingly, he's on the road out of Anfield.

I was thinking that myself BigMick when i read about Whitbread going to Millwall...............we must have already a centre back sorted out for the January window for Rafa to let Zak leave , even its on loan as stated in the press. To be honest tho , im really surprised its Millwall he is going to ..........maybe Rafa wants Whitbread hardened up a bit :D :D

I've never been impressed with the lad. Some are, I'm not. From what I've seen of him (Which in all fairness hasn't been much), I don't rate him as a long-term prospect. People who go to the reserve games and all, might tell you different. This loan move is beneficial for everyone. I'm not sad to see him go in the slightest. I would take Josemi over him at centre-back if need be.
