Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

1) Kewell and Moro are world class players. They need games to build fitness and form - i agree that today was not the day to start both of them. They should have been on the bench.
2) No idea, If he plays anywhere it should be up the middle. having said that i do not think he is clinical enough a finisher to be a force over a consistant period of time.
3) Moro is not the same type of player as Crouch. Being tall does not make you similar.
4) No idea about that one.... personally i think that two were a waste of money and one was vastly over valued on the back of a few goals for a  football team.
5) Because he was s   h   i   t   e   !

cisse may not be clinical enough but he'll always trouble defenders with his pace and power and will get goals.......as 4 ur opinion on baros ....was he worse than moro and crouch(on current form).

We are champions of europe.... and that i will never forget for the rest of my life....

The thing is we don't only have the scums and arsenal to deal with....Spurs looks a much better team than us at the moment. And then there is charlton.

It seems that quite a number of teams have improved from last season...But we haven't.

In fact, i think we are playing worse than last season. We had quite a few great performance last season. (against arsenal, against chelsea {although we lost}, against WBA......).  This season......the less said the better .......

Baros can cause more problems for the opposition than crouch & moro combined......

Its nearly November, we have won just 2 games in the league so far, both at home, 1-0 against poor opposition. We have scored just 5 goals, been hammered at home by Chelsea 4-1. It feels like 'the emperors new clothes'. We have one school of thought pointing at the games saying " look we are s.hit, we can't even score" and another set telling us "but we won the champions league" I think the problem lies herein; We have won the emperors gown, we just can't get dressed. If that is correct we should expect hypothermia.

4 me rafa hasnt got much of a clue abt the EPL yet ........i say this because he keeps changing almost his entire team and formation in the league almost every other time......whereas his team selections and formations ,tactics in europe are spot on......when do u suppose he'll get the hang of it??

Ok! I'll put my hand out to be slapped!! I agree with Steve! But then I always get despondent after a loss!! I know, I know...we won The Champs League, but let's be a wee bit honest..we had a bit of jam on the way. Fighting tooth and nail for the title is our bread and butter, :censored: Europe. If we aren't doing it at home, then doing it in Europe is just bollix!! I honestly don't fancy our chances against any domestic opposition!! Who have we beaten this year? ??? Mighty Sunderland and glorious Blackburn by the smallest of margins!! Is this what we are used to? Will we continue to stick our heads up our :censored: and await the second coming? I am so fcuking p1ssed off!! And we'll go out tomorrow and beat Barcelona!! AAAAGH! Bring back Souness ffs! In the league is Rafa better than Evans, Houllier? My :censored: he is! And spare me the "sunshine supporter :censored:" Remember Bob said about being at Liverpool during the bad days when we finished second?? We need players who will die for the honour of wearing the red..... I AM SO ANNOYED AND FED UP!!

my main worry stems from the initial impression that Rafa was perservering(sp) with a new formation fully aware that ALL the correct personnel were not yet purchased. Although we know that Morientes was considered  a major coup by Rafa, hindsight would suggest he cannot adapt to our league much in the same way as say Nunez. Not only are the tactics failing Rafa, he seems unable to identify the correct players. Alonso does not impose himself on a game that starts to drift away from us, he is a fantastic player but that is a problem, Sissokos' distribution is in need of serious attention. Hands up who rates Djimi? thought as much, so why pick him?

Bring on the brick-bats.

I can accept that Chelsea are light years ahead of everyone in the Prem, but to lose to an average team like Fulham is simply not acceptable.

On Liverpool's official website, Rafa said that the lack of firepower is costing us dearly.

That's what happens when you sell Baros, marginalise Cisse, sign Morientes who apparently left his goal-scoring ability at airport customs, sign Crouch who doesn't even look as though he's going to score and refuse to sign Michael Owen.

If they don't sign a strong striker plus the defender and midfielder that Rafa wants, in January, then I'm afraid that it will be a poor finish in the Prem and NO Champions League football next season.

let's face facts.rafa, no matter how good of a manager, will not be able to compete with the money of chelsea.anyone who thinks he's going to lead us to the championship is deluding themseleves.i wish he could, but you all know the truth,if ferguson, and wenger, can't compete,do you really expect rafa to!. i suspect that he will realise that he as no chance and eventually move on to real madrid where he will at least stand a chance of matching chelsea in europe.:( :(

We matched and beat Chelsea in Europe last year and this you f.ucking kno.bhead. Stop talking utter s.hit!!

And stop blaming our problems on Chelsea, people pulling the 'Chelsea card' is just the same as when people try and use the 'racism card'......STOP IT, it is annoying, OUR TEAM is the problem, not how good Chelsea are!!  We played and lost to FULHAM (in case you hadnt noticed!!) NOT CHELSEA.

Cant people just stop with the weak a.rse excuses??

I agree with a great deal of the posts today regarding our performance not only at Fulham but this season, especially in the league.

We must be all behind Rafa, however, things need to improve drastically. The team is flooded with Spanish players, some good and some not. Why does he persist withTraore? Give Warnock a run of games because the lad has just been called up by the national squad, so he must be doing something right. The same with Josemi as his positional sense of play is woeful. Play Finnan regulary and settle for a consistent back four.

Kewell will need some time to get back to his best, but we need wingers who can dribble passed players and create opportunites for our forwards. Garcia is too light weight in the EPL and Moro will be sold unless he starts playing as he should be.

Let's see some of the youngsters coming through aswell, as we need a change in certain positions. If they are good enough...play them! United and Arsenal do but we stick with the same under performing players week in week out.

Winning the Champions league was fantastic and one of the best footballing nights of my life. However, some people have said that it's only one defeat today and we must not be to down, but look at our season so far and the team is grossly under performing. My question is this! What will happen to Rafa if we finish where we are in the our present league position...12th?

Your thoughts?
