In all fairness to you I think you are wrong but posts such as this one are becoming impossible to completely ridicule. Nobody has a blank cheque in terms of time and clearly there will come a point sooner or later where unless we dramatically improve, the balance of opinion will tip against the manager and some of the players.
For my part, I think we have the right man but he must find within himself some humility to go with his astute tactical knowledge. I think the drawing board is overdue a revisit in terms of the way we approach games in the Premiership and a move towards a more 'English' style of play.
By 'English' I mean football of a more physical, high tempo variety. I mean the acceptance that in the Premier League you have to fight to win the right to play. Until this battle is won, the players with more expressive talents will never be able to flourish. I also mean that we have to play a compact 4-4-2.
The great Spanish experiment in terms of tactical approach is not quite at it's end but it must surely be on it's last legs. If we haven't got the players to make it work, then don't play it until we have. If the players don't understand it then don't play it until they do. Ultimately we haven't got to reinvent the wheel, we've just got to win some football matches. I don't know about on the continent, but in England you do that by grafting to get bodies behind the ball. You do it by defending properly, with comittment and organisation. When you've got the ball you work hard to keep it, when you do lose it you close down in packs and work your nuts off. When you get forward you comitt midfielders and strikers into the box, and if you can sprinkle in a bit of quality aswell you'll win more than most. That's how we do it over here, it's always been that way.
