Yeah of course, why Benitez  blew a staggering £7m on a player like that still beggars belief!!!

What was he thinking?

Not.   :D

Personally, whilst you're rightly one of the favourites to win the CL, I think you're gonna have to change the way you play to win it.

That was what you said.

This was my question.

May I ask you in what way you think we play? and to what we would have to change it to win the CL?

Cheers

yeah sure. sorry. i didn't know what point you were referring to.

in my opinion, the main thing that made chelsea so successful last season was their unpredictibility. by that i mean that duff, and in particular robben were constantly interchanging positions and roaming all over the place. however this season it seems to me that they're being asked to stick to a certain system and consequently their impact on games is becoming more limited.

you'll always have a good chance because your defence is so strong. however when teams come to stamford bridge and "park the bus" as maureen likes to call it, you struggle to break teams down, especially without robben. we did it in the semi last season and you had no answer.

a serious question here. for all the money you've spent, do you actually think that you're an entertaining team to watch? because personally i think watching chelsea is like watching paint dry. do you seriously think that fans are gonna fork out nearly £50 for a game against anderlecht? no wonder you're ground was half empty last night. :D

Chelsea - why dont you come up to anfield and watch a real CL night-
You were lucky again last night-keep that standard up and you wont even qualify for the knockouts m8-

Oh and where was your players who can do magic when things arnte going well ?
If crespo or drogba would have scored our goals you would have been bleating on about how class will always come through for you- lampards goal was one for the football bloomers file-

Wake up and smell the roses m8- your far from unbeatable- your a very lucky team and once that deserts you - you will get found out both in the prem and europe-
I noticed the special one conceding that 1st or 2nd in the group would do him- bit of a climb down for him maybe hes just edging his bets to save face after we stuff you on the 28th
The cracks at Anfield are begining to get filled while yours are just begining to show  :rasp

This thread is totally harsh, Cisse i will agree did not perform last night and should of worked alot harder, closing defenders down.
But what people should remember is he came on when we were totally on the back foot, was probably asked to hold a high position to force Betis back, and had very little support due to the way the second half had gone.
It was not a good night for him, but at this moment we all know his confidence is not good.
I think he is the one striker we have that can change a game if we are not performing...we have only seen it once in the super cup really, but lets remember he was out for most of last season.
His touch needs to be worked on, as does his attitude the team should ALWAYS come first.
But he is a player that offers something totally different to Morientes and Crouch and as pointed in a previous post...by woof i think, the service has got to be better as well.
I am made up with how things went last night, i didn't think we would win yesterday...especially when i seen the line up, no Finnan Warnock Gerrard Riise, they should all be fit and raring to go against the scum on sunday.
Rafa needs to be applauded, it is very difficult getting the balance right for Europe knowing you have one of the biggest games of the season a few days later.
Well we managed to win a really tough tricky game without some of our regulars...including the supposedly one man lfc team of Stevie G.
What a result.
Peewee i understand what your saying about posession, we clung on too much in the second half, but at the end of the day we have 3 points...are top of our group...and have players coming back fresher for the BIG ONE on sunday.

ROLL ON SUNDAY !!

Ok.

I dont agree with the 1st paragraph.

With the 2nd - I would say any team in the world would find it difficult to break down a visiting side which had 11 men defending. However I am certain that we are capable of breaking down a defense, albiet in the 94th minute.

As for us having no answer when we played you, we played without 4 first choice players ( robben, duff, ferrera, bridge) which instantly took away most of our attack. This time we play you in a few weeks and with Gods grace players of both teams are injury free (other than both our left backs who are out so our problems have started again).

Oh i cant wait to get to Anfield, watch the match and write abot it, spend 2 days and then we play you again ..... aaah life is beautiful.

nice post chelseaforever :)

however, chelseas bench is worth millions, so having 4 players out is no excuse for a team who can buy anyone, well almost anyone !!

You must have forgotten the game at Anfield when we played you of the park and you stole the points with a deflected fluke from cole -lucky again!
Even the special one had to admit you stole the points-

bring who like on the 28th- you still wont win :rasp

Seriously CF, stop your moaning about injuries, no team in Europe had as rough a time with injuries as us last season, and it didn't help with Fat Frank snapping Xabi's leg, so shut it :rasp

Chelsea Forever - my comments were not made as a wind up but It MUST be a concern that you can only raise 29,000 for a HOME CL game!! What happens if Roman Abramovich leaves? With a poor home crowd the money will soon dry up.

Anyone else smell another Leeds UTD scenario coming on???  :idea
