Englands best midfield is SWP, Lampard, Gerrard & Cole..... beckham knows this....and this is the reason for 4-5-1.

England has the best team in ages.....but they ain't gonna win the world cup with players picking the squad....

Its always about how beckham doesn't cut it, isn't it.

But just how much had gerrard done in an england shirt to prove his worthy of a place? Surely beckham had done more. So if Beckham's ought to be out of the team, so too gerrard. Gerrard just does not transfer his form for club to country. everyone knows that.

i suppose passions aren't high for WC qualifiers, but i am sure that most fans would support the national team just as much as their clubs when it comes to a summer fiesta like that world cup, when national pride and a medal are at stake.

TBH i agree with what you are saying there, i cant remember the last time Gerrard performed in an England shirt, and the last few games Beckham has probably been englands best player.
It doesnt really bother me, i would rather Gerrard didnt even play unless it was in a major tournament because so long as he plays well for us thats all that matters.
But gungods assesment is fair enough.
