I think that to a certain degree why arsenal are one of the best teams in the world nowis that other teams fear them and always feel like the underdogs coming to highbury.

an e.g. the only that Man U. lost 4-1 (yo) is becuase Man. city came thinking that there is a chance that we could win this!

It is all about attitude to the oppostion we need to add a fear factor to liverpool by the crowd, performances and score line!

I agree, any team now knows that Liverpool are there for the taking and the fear of playing us has gone altogether. How we get it back is another matter, it can take years to build a team that instills fear in the hearts of the opposition, and minutes to lose that reputation

Tightening up on defending set-pieces on the training ground would be a simple start to the process

it's just a sad fact that teams don't fear coming to anfield anymore. in the old days teams used to come ton anfield KNOWING that they would get beat. nowadays the likes of southampton and bolton are turning up and beating us. unfortunately, due to the team's inept performances, the crowd at home games has been dead this season, mainly due to apprehension and fear of a mistake. the lack of champions league is also a negative. i mean the atmosphere at the roma game two years ago was absolutely frightening. the "this is anfield" sign meant something again. these days we are just rotting away, and will continue to do so until our board take their heads from out their a#ses and sack our incompetent muppet of a manager.

Sadly most teams now believe they can get something at Anfield because we lack the self-belief in our own abilities and we are so one dimensional that just about everyone nows how to play us.

Just a few quick points...

? How many European Cups have they won and when was the last time they retained the league championship?

Pshcology is a big part of the modern game, and can be used to your advantage, but also against you. Between confidence and cockyness, there is a fine line.

The crowd at home games has been overun by cockneys and woolyback wan-kers. Dont all jump on the bandwagon here, but since the TV money came in and ticket prices went thru the roof, scousers are few and far between. Im not saying only scousers sing, but we have a lot more patience than the wools, and we know people like Murphy and Heskey need to be encouraged, not berated after the first missed pass or wayward shot.

People who go the game are called supporters, and the clue is in the name.

European sides still fear coming to Anfield, make no mistake. Its like an English team going the San Siro or Camp Nou. All they have seen of it are the great games of the past, and the times weve beat Roma and Barca. They dont see the inept defeats by Southampton on TV.

And you cant`t blame GH ALONE for that ! :angry:

At all times there are 11 men playing - and they have to some extent a responsibility for their own motivation ! :angry:

You can NEVER take that away ! And I think they`re a sorry bunch if they need a french man to tell them what it takes to win matches in England !

players should also shoulder responsibility but sadly we have too many spineless players who are happy to hide when the chips are down.........jesus cliches!!!!!

Leon, bit of an insular, parochial attitude there dude... What next? Baros isn't a scouser, tell him to f##k off! Owen's a woollyback, don't want his type round here! We've heard it all before about out-of-towners and its all boll##ks

As for supporting the club I've made the point before on another thread that blind faith is a dangerous thing. Yes we all support LFC with all our hearts through thick and thin but we have a right and a DUTY to let th club know when things are going wrong

I do believe that the best teams are always able to adapt to the different problems every opposition puts before them.It may take awhile during the game but more often than not the manu/chelsea/arsenal's break the opposition down.Sadly we seem to be so lack lustre in ideas that if Steven Gerrard can't do it or once upon a time if Owen can't do it then we are stumped.If it needs a new man to come in with a fresh approach then that maybe the answer!
