Gonzalez to wait for loan move

Chile international Mark Gonzalez will move to Liverpool on loan from Albacete as soon as he can get a work permit, according to the Spanish club.

Gonzalez's proposed switch to Anfield collapsed when he was refused a work permit because Chile are ranked outside the top 70 nations by Fifa.

Liverpool are still keen to bring the player to the Premiership, and Albacete have agreed to take the player back until his work permit problem can be resolved.

"The Chilean player will wear the number 12 shirt after reaching an agreement with Liverpool. Mark will play for Albacete until he receives his work permit," read a statement on the Albacete website.

"That could happen on one of two dates - in January or on 30 June."

Gonzalez is currently out injured with knee ligament damage sustained at the end of last season.

Good news indeed. Its nice that he still wants to come. I think the big board members are gonna be putting some calles to the home office to make the Gonzalez deal happen in January.

Was just about to post this myself. Weve also signed another rookie youngster from Man Utd of all teams - Ramon Castille.

Weve also signed Besian Idrizaj on a 2 year deal after he impressed in trial. He was voted Austrian player of the year and hes just a kid !!!!!

We may not be signing many well established player but Rafa is putting together a squad full of talent from al over Europe the same way he did at Valencia when he started bringing in unknown players such as Pablo Aimar, Mohammed Sissoko and Vicente !!!!

Call me crazy but im actually looking forward to seeing what the youngsters can do in the Carling cup.

Gonzales  :buttrock  :buttrock  I wanna see how good the austrian winger is. The highlights of the reserve match against west brom dont show much of him.

I dont know for sure but apparenlty they think that any player from outside of this isn't good enough to play in the prem.

Its not only that but the player has to "be able to contribute" to justify his permit as well as sometime haveing played x number of times for his country. The silly thing is we are European champions and of course hes going to be important if we are serious about signing him. This is just a big :censored: up by the home office which will be easily sorted. There are many players whos countries are outside the top 70 who play in the premiership. its pure hypocracy

Heres how silly this system is, just to name a few:

Nolberto Solano- Peru - 75

Ryan Giggs (although i kow hes good im making a point about the ranking system) - Wales - 83

Park Ji Sung and the rest of the Koreans - 86

brilliant, this is the best news we've had for ages.

didn't someone mention a while back that he'll be getting a spanish passport soon though? either through marrying his spanish fiancee, which i think is happening soon, or through residency sometime next year.  ???

Yes i heard this to. He sure seems set on playing for Liverpool doesnt he. Im sure hell be well received. But If its the summer he comes in then i think Rafa will just sign him anyway rather than a loan as by that time other clubs may be interested in him to.

to be fair Korea are much higher than 86 - there is another entry for republic of korea in the 20/30's

think i made this point on another thread about Gonzales - why do Fifa hide behind crappy regulations like world rankings? the stupid system currently has USA at #6 in the world, ie ahead of England, Germany, Italy and as you can imagine a whole host of other good national sides - any system that allows such a ranking should be ignored!
