A new center half?, and right midfielder? - 3 days to go

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby NiftyNeil » Sun Aug 28, 2005 1:38 pm

I'm posting this out of concern.
It has been clear in the opening games of the season, that we still need to strengthen our squad.
For the last two weeks, all transfer talk has been centered around whether Michael Owen will return. All the time, Rafa has responded by saying we need a new center half and a right midfielder.
Well, with only 3 days to go until transfer deadline, we appear to be no more closer to signing anyone for those positions. We have been loosely connected with right wingers Solano and Stelios. The latter has since signed a new contract. And, we haven't been linked to a new defender since the Milito deal feel through (with the exception of Andrade).
I am now worried that with all the MO nonsense, we have lost sight on our real aims. We have only 3 days to make an offer on possibly  3 different players, have them accepted, hammer out personal details, and have them pass medicals. I can't see that happening. Unless Rick Parry can split himself into three.
Another concern, is that we only have 3 days left to get rid of Salif Diao. I thought he'd left, but apparently, the tw@t played for the reserves last week.

I'm starting to get worried too, we really need a RM, because we have no-one that can play there, at least for CB we have Whitbread.

I think RM should be top priority, then CB, then Owen. If we sort out the first 2 I'll be happy.

As for now we no need MO... If RB got his man (RM) and still Nando didn't score much goals, then we can go for MO ... Maybe Jan transfer market .

Good idea, and instead of all this Michael Owen nonsense we should just go and sign Ronaldinho and Adriano. :idea  ??? :sleepy:

Please  put away your Championship Manager and whatever the hell you play else, this is the real world. Whilst you can sign a player on Championship Manager within seconds, it takes a bit longer in real life.

as i remember, the champ man process was a bit more complex...often your transfer targets would drag for weeks on end!

but i aint played it for years now!

eal betis wouldnt chrge to much for joaquin

 :D  This forum gets better and better. Joaquin is their best player, one of the most talented prospects in Spain currently. 20 million at the least for Joaquin.

and im sure rafa could get ayala from valencia for cheap

And I'm sure that Valencia will let one of their best players go to a manager they've had a conflict with in the past.
