The reality is that when the KOP turn up the volume the players rarely disappoint.

I've been fortunate enough to get to a  LOT of games over the years but last seasons Semi Final against CFC at anfield was just about the most incredible atmosphere I've personally witnessed.

People talk about the St Etienne Quarter Final in 77 as being THE game to be at for atmosphere. As i wasn;t there all I can say is it must have been some atmosphere to beat last seasons Semi final !!!! :p

All i can say regarding the difference in noise levels between Prem and Eoro games is that you sure don't get over fussy and beureucratic stewards telling you to sit down at European games !!!!!!! ???

I've heard a lot of older fans and ex players say that the Chelsea semi-final shat all over the Etienne game.

i sit in the lower anfield road end directly next to the away fans for league games, the banter and singing in this area is usually great. I am currently waiting for a season ticket in the kop but having read this topic im having second thoughts. I always get my tickets for the euro nights in the Kop and these ,as we all know, are electric. However its just my opinion but for singing and banter the lower anfield road end is excelant. especially against small town opponants with large chips on their shoulders i.e sunderland, wigan, ect.

dont think a topic on crowd singing and how its louder in europe has anything to do with were you come from really, that ever so slightly narrow minded isn't it? I am a local lad from ormskirk and i am proud to have my roots in the city but that doesn't mean i have the right to suggest other peoples roots aren't as strong as mine or anything :censored: like that, does it?

Well i attend every home game at Anfield i am a Kop season ticket holder, i also go to every CL game, and there is a big difference in the noise generated for CL games as oppossed to prem games. I may be wrong here but to me it would seem that one of the main reasons the noise volume is much louder, and there is more singing at CL games is there are more local supporters at the CL games?..and a lot of those who travel up to the prem games dont make it to the European nights. I have noticed that a lot of supporters who sing you'll never walk alone dont realise there are two verses to this anthem, and after one chorus they start clapping? obviously "outa towners" :nod
