Can somebody please remind me ?
le tallec seems to have been with us forever but is alway's out on loan . does this signify that despite his inability to secure a regular first team place LFC are still keen to hold on to his services ? Just how long has this lad got left on his contract ? Will he ever be good enough ? And assuming that one day he will be (good enough) ,will it be to late as he prepare's to walk on a bosman after refusing to sign an extended contract due to not trusting LFC to give him regular football ?

lot's of questions I know ,but I'm really in the dark as to what LFC's take on this fella is .

Any idea's ?

I hear you woof woof, I agree with everything. But Liverpool must see something in him if they keep holding on to him when there is oportunities to sell him off permanently.

i think le tallec has potential...whether what is as yet untapped is worth hanging on to remains to be seen whether he has enough.
in light of rafa's options portfolio, im inclined to think it may be a mistake to loan out such cover?

last season he was loaned out for in reason i'm not sure of - maybe rafa just didn't know what he was going to do with him or thought he wouldn't need him or whatever. the fact that he's gone out again but with a prem team makes it look like rafa likes the look of him and reckons a full season of premiership games will ready him for us next year.

i have to agree with his reasoning. at times le tallec looks the business but only now and again. he needs a good run in a tough league to get his sharpness and he ain't gonna get that with us this season.

not sure if a season with a team who'll go straight back down is going to do anyone's confidence that much good though

Le Tallec needs to buff up a bit and learn how to impose himself on games. I always had him down as a small player, but recently saw a picture of him standing beside Steven Gerrard and he's actually the same height.

His development has been slow and he needs to make the most of his spell at Sunderland.

I'm quiet sure Anthony Le Tallec has only been here for 2 seasons before this one, in his first season he made a lot of sub appearances and last year is still in the memory. He must have signed a 4 or 5 year contract which means there is still plenty of time before his contract expires. He will turn 21 this season.

To me he looks like he is a late developer physically, he has hardly any muscle on him at all. When he develops naturally or through a specific weights programme not only will he get stronger but he will also get quicker, I'm not saying he will become lightning quick, but as his legs muscles develop he will gain an extra yard or two of pace (note the case with Matthew Etherington).

We know he is technically good, tall, good header of the ball, etc. If he plays first team football in his best position (Bergkamp role) for Sunderland this year it will be great, but I still think that he will be a late bloomer and talk a bit longer to make an impact when he has fully developed physically and gets some first team experience. Whether he stays at the club long enough is another matter all together, but I hope he does because I still have a lot of faith in him.

I can't say I have much confidence to see him develop into what we deem necessary to become one of our regular strikers, but he does look lightweight on the ball, easily dispossessed and also awful when shooting as he keeps getting off-target. Still need much convincing on this fellah.

Having said that, Cisse seems to enjoy a partnership with him as they keep reciprocating setting up one-another in the friendlies. This may be the case that the game is a friendly and not competitive with more time on the ball as compared to EPL matches. Compare and contrast to Baros-Cisse last season where both did not really work together and needless to say, exchanges were very rare.

La tellac seems to have all the techincal ability to become a greta player......but like wat JBG says he just has to impose himself in games.

He could be our berkamp if he does impose himself.......

1)Good Header of the ball
2)Good 1st touch.
3)Good Vison
4)Not too slow.

I hate to point this out to you, Rock but when he was at Le Tellac's age, Dennis Bergkamp was already on his way to greatness.

Le Tellac has a long way to go yet if he were to become a Bergkamp. Thus far, he is totally unconvincing to me.

At 23 in Euro 1992, Bergkamp was one of the Dutch stars as he combined very well with marco Van Basten. I can't yet see Le Tallec getting anywhere near as good as Bergkamp.

Maybe I am a pessimist...

I just don't see the attraction with him, basically I think he's sh!te and will never make the grade at Liverpool in a month of sundays

think he has got the skill and probably vision but at many here said he needs to improve his physical side. 1 full season on loan at Sunderland will do him good.Not bergkamp cat. though

I only said that he plays in the Bergkamp role, I never said he was going to be as good or better than Bergkamp.

actually i believe if la tellac had played more games, he would show his real potential.

one of the reasons why i am so high-up on La tellac & pongolle is becos i actually saw some of the matches they played in the youth world cup. They were awesome. i know it is only the youth world cup & diouf was one the players of 2002 world cup and all...but i have never seen anybody dominate a few matches like what La tellac and ponggole did.

If we are willinging to give morientes a full season, maybe we should give la tellac a full season to judge him ...rite

I think that's why he's been given time to go on loan and not released. perhaps there is the potential but he needs more playing time but Liverpool can't give him that at this present moment, so he's off to another loan spell.

I hope he does improve well enough, otherwise him and Pongolle will have been a waste of some 6 million quids.
