I watched 21 Grams the other night. I was really impressed, saying that, you know exactly what you're getting with Sean Penn, he is amazing.

Watched 2001, it's probably just me, but I just didn't get it, especially the psychedelic lightshow at the end.

Anyone care to tell me what the fu*k it's about? I liked HAL though. One fu*ked up computer that.

Its suposedly about the majesty of creation and a glimpse of God but I've seen the film loads of times and read the original book and I think Kubrick has deliberately left the ending vague to add to the whole mythical aura of the movie.

i love it, it's such a feast for the senses - the only film i could watch with my back to the telly and just listen to it, just pure genius. i love french cinema in general, but delicatessen is the pinnacle for me

the sound for me is probably the most important part of the film, it's just sublime the way it's all been thought of and put together

obviously it's not everybody's cup of tea, but i've got it on dvd and watch it very occasionally when i know i've no distractions and savour every minute :nod

totally different genre to delicatessen, in fact they're both very conventional films from the mid 80's (althought set around a century ago) but revolve around a truly heart-warming story which has been so well-made and well-acted that the films are classics imo

manon des source features a young(ish) emmanuelle beart who will just bowl you over

watch them one after the other on a nice weekend day and i guarantee you'll want to emigrate to france
