1985 F.A. cup semi final replay......beaten 2-1 by United after being one nil up. At that time we were winning league cups without even trying, we had won 3 league titles on the trot and were feared across Europe but we couldn't get near the f.a. cup. In 83 and 84 Brighton had knocked us out and I thought '85 would have been our year.

that and the semi final before Hysel, we would have remained a big team throughout europe and not have to wait 20 years for euro glory again.
The Micheal Thomas goal did hurt the most of them all as it was like a kick in the teeth.

Obviously the 88 cup final and the michael thomas goals are givers for being gutted....

One game I remember for being so f**king angry and pi$$ed off was the basel game away - we conceeded 3 goals to a gang of part time p***ks, then scored 3 and GH had the audasity to call us unlucky.....I absolutely wanted to wreck the joint that night!

Two home defeats in the 1996-7 season spring to mind Coventry(thanks to calamity James) and the 3-1 loss to ManUre and their oh so witty fans p*** taking!

I must have mis interpreted the question and topic title, I thought it was about which results in a one off game would you change, not which defeat pi.ssed you off the most.

I have to say hand on heart that the loss at home against Arsenal in '89 hurts the same as losing away at Everton last season, losing away at Bradford, losing at home against Man U or any other defeat. It all makes me MAD !

The fa cup semi ( around 78/79 )defeat to Man u wrecked me and the first round european cup exit at the hands of Nottingham Forest around the same time. I expect the older members will remember these lol

Definetly THAT Michael thomas goal, cried for days i did, and made worse by the fact i can remember it so clearly - him with his bloody stupid celebration almost doing a breakdance by spinning on his head....

definite bad memory for me.....also i would change every loss to Aston Villa EvER, just because my brother supports them!!!!

I'd change Liverpool 0 Arsenal 2 in 1989 and Liverpool 0 Wimbledon 1 in 1988.

I'd reverse any defeat we suffered last season
just so we wouldn't have had to listen to the fcuking blue-noses
go on all summer about finishing 5th in a 4 horse race
