Let's just hope this is more than just rumours,'Nando,Raul & Cisse sounds pretty mouthwatering to me!

Exactly there you have pace (cisse) height (moro) and finishing (all of them)

But in saying that I wouldn't get too excited because if you look at that story he hasn't even said he wants to come, the papers have based this story on him being unhappy in madrid and going to visit his best friend.

11 years in one place is a long time. Raul is not a Robbie (who lost interest). He trains hard, works hard and is not a loud mouth know it all. He commands respect at Real because of his consistently outstanding performances for many years at the top stage. Sure, he's played badly for a season. This is why the price is so LOW! not high.

£15m for Raul when Chelsea pay £30m for Drogba. Absolute bargain. If Real do buy others (which is very likely, Adriano, Ibrahimovic, Robinho etc.) and are also v.likely to keep Ronaldo (who recaught his form at the end of the season) and Owen (who has done v.well from subs bench and won over Luxemburgo) there is no space for Raul.

An amicable parting is likely. Joining Benitez, Morientes, Alonso and co. at the European Champions seems to me his best option. 3 European Cups, 4 Ligas, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 3 Spain Supercups, 1 European Supercup and the all-time active top scorer in La Liga. Only thing he's lacking is a Premiership title. Which just so happens is exactly what we need.

Wake up, 15m is way too much. He has done nothing in the last 2 seasons to remotely warrant that kind of transfer. If we bring him in it will be a gamble as he could turn out to be poor, so we shouldn't be breaking the bank.

What?

Raul is world class. Yeah he's had a 'poor' couple of seasons, but he's also played out of position ever since Ronaldo was bought. He plays deeper, which is why his goals have dropped. If anyone has seen Spanish football you should have noticed this. In fact, Guillem Balague first said it how Raul had to change his game totally to fit in the team. Raul and Moro when they play together have been awesome over the years. I'd take him at LFC. He's miles better than baros, and still much better than Cisse. As for other targets- why AJ and Crouch are being mentioned with our club is shocking. One season wonders - Marcus Stewart anyone?? In fact Crouch only had a good end to the season. Kuyt, dont know much about him, but's he's 24, and consistently got out scored by :censored: Kezman in the Dutch league. Compared to Raul, there's no contest.

Raul is one of the most talented players on the planet and for a spell 2 years ago he was probably the best player in the world.

In summer 2003 Abramovich bid €100million (euros) for him!

He's a terrific player who if he arrived and was a success, would be a major factor in us bridging the gap with the top 3.

My only doubts about him is that he's a big ego on a lot of money.

the ego wouldnt be a problem IMO. he is loved by real, and he knows what good fans are, which is why he would come here if anywhere, but i think he'll be staying at real myself

IMO i think its something he has said to either test the water  to gauge what the board at Real  would do , or is making a warning shot across their bows  by suggesting he would be prepared to leave .

At  the end of the day i dont think he has any real intention of leaving and is playing politics by using Liverpool as a tool against the Real Madrid board  in regards to incoming players and Owen in particular who he critisised  not to long ago ........every one is falling for it , its a ploy often used by players in his position   i.e. Vierra at Aresenal etc .

we will not be able to afford him..RM will demand a lot for him.. it is not as if he still have only 1 yr in his contract... It will be a fool to believe RM will sell raul below 25 million pounds

Yeah ,

Why is my memory of Raul's footballing ability overshadowed by my memory of reports about his prima donna attitude ? . I seem to recall one claiming he caused a lot of dissension within the club . Can't fault his talent but at LFC we've had our share of sh'it stirrers.

Having said that , maybe a new begining and a mgr like Rafa is just what Raul needs.

:)

Is it just me or doesn't anyone else notice something which stands out rather glaringly in those stats for Raul's past two seasons ?

That glaring fact is that he has not been playing alongside Moro for the past two seasons !! Anyone who has watched those two play as a partnership will know that they compliment each other perfectly and know what each other is thinking. At the end of the day they are still the number 1 strike partnership for Spain which is saying something !

If he's available bring him on I say !

Didn't he go to the director of Real with 2 other players and say it's either Camancho or us cos he p155ed at not getting enough playing time? I'd like to see him doing that at Anfield :D
