Here is his profile from LFC.TV for anyone who is not familiar with is name:
French central defender Carl Medjani spent the entire 2004/05 season on a year's loan at French team L'Orient.
Medjani, whose only first team appearance was in the friendly win at Wrexham in July 2004, became Gerard Houllier's fifth summer signing ahead of the 2003/04 season when he arrived at Anfield from Saint Etienne in August 2003.
Medjani is one for the future but certainly has good pedigree and Houllier beat off competition from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United to sign Medjani.
Indeed Sir Alex Ferguson even invited him over to view the club's training complex in February 2003, but the player chose Liverpool.
Medjani was a regular member of the reserve team in the 2003/04 season and captained the team when John Welsh was out injured and is certainly competitive and strong in the tackle.
He just tuned 20 last month, played regular reserve football for us in 2003/2004 season and even captained them, and has spent the whole season out on loan.
Well anyway, the reason I started this thread was because he captained France in the current U21 tournament yesterday against South Africa. The game was on Eurosport, but I only got to see the game in patches, he was playing at centre back but I didn’t see enough of the match to make any sort of judgement.
Did anyone watch the match yesterday, and if so how did he play?
