Spoke to one of those sports ticket agencies today. They said that this week they have sent over a guy to istanbul to hunt for and buy as many of the tickets allocated to the turks in the neutral section as he can get hold of, he will then bring them back and flog them in england. This will probably be the case with the other agencies and a lot of scumbag touts as well.

I guess most of the english touting will be done in England in the run up to the game, but i know there are gonna still be a load out there. If worse comes to the worse and I don't get my ticket sorted prior to getting to istabul, what currency do you reckon would be best suited for making the purchase, USD or GBP?

I remember a few years ago I went to watch Galaytasary Vs Besiktas in istanbul (crazy atmosphere!!) and the tout we got our tickets from took USD no problem. I just don't fancy carrying a suitcase full of Turkish Lire!!!!

The turkish Lire is soon to be superceeded by the new Turkish Lira, which is the same but without the millions, ie 2,500,000 old lire = 2.5 new lira.

They are running in unison right now, but the old one is being phased out and stops being legal tender at the end of the year.

you can get the new ones now, so wont need the suitcase but can still use the Turkish currency.

Euro or pounds, the Turks luv any sort of money though as long as its money

A pint costs say 50 pence now, the week of the final that pint will probably cost about 2.50 a pint, not that I drink pints

just sayin like the prices will soar that week.

Cheers fellas, I am looking forward to the cheap ale already. I know what you are saying though the prices are going to be crazily inflated that week. I am just praying I find a cheap kebab van over there so I don't waste away:D

Yea the best thing for you to do is take dollars. I say this due to the current currency rates, its nearly 2dollars to the pound, so it makes sense to buy dollars as u sort of double your money. I gaurantee they would charge u roughly the same for a ticket (if u get one!! Hope u do M8) ie; £400 or $400, so trust me take dollars and u will save some money.
