this months goal of the month contest on match of the day was unbelievable. there were about 4 or 5 crackers with nothing really to choose between them.

who's was best in your opinion?

I was discussing this with my girlfriends Dad on Saturday night. I would have gone for (in this order)

Edman vs Liverpool
Rooney vs Newcastle
Gerrard vs 'Boro

He preferred Gudjohnsens goal against Southampton as there were about forty passes before he slotted it home. I prefer screamers though before goals like that. Don't get me wrong, I love a well worked goal but I hate to say it, Edmans goal was something else.

Good left foot him, he supplied the pinpoint cross for that cracker Larsson scored against Bulgaria at Euro 2004.

have to say jonny that edman's goal was the best goal i've ever seen scored against us at anfield. when it went in the people sat around me just looked at each other in stunned silence because it seemed inconcevable that he would shoot, let alone score from there.

still go for gerrard though because i'm biased. :bowdown

Yeah, it was hit like Laurent Robert's free kick in the 'Cheyrou' FA Cup game last season, except ten times better. Both unstoppable mind you.

we were in pub on saturday, and all agreed, it was edman 3rd, the norwich guy 2nd, and gerrard first.

or maybe rooney somewhere in there but we couldnt say that out loud

my choices would be

1) Edman
2) Gerrard
3) Rooney

Honestly I think Rooney's goal was the best of the lot cos the ball was coming at him and dropping when he hit it and that is technically the most difficult of all the goals scored.
