4th place will be decided by this weekend. Hopefully newcastle can get a result out of the blues and if we can just give a big performance against arsenal we may very well be playing cl football next season
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,

I hope i'm wrong but i think the place will be decided this weekend in the blues favour.
I think they will beat Newcastle, and i think after the effort the lads put in tuesday they will be really drained sunday.
Arsenal are the best passing side in the league and will make the players chase shadows for alot of the game.
I hope i am wrong but cant see it.

Once We Lose To Arsenal...Uefa Cup Here We Come...

------------------------------------------------------------
Gaillard stands firm on UEFA rule
------------------------------------------------------------

UEFA will not change the rules to allow Liverpool to enter next season's Champions League as holders.

Liverpool will face AC Milan in this season's final in Istanbul on May 25.

But even victory could see the Anfield side miss out on next season's competition, with FA chiefs expected to decide at a meeting on Thursday that the top four in the Barclays Premiership should qualify for the Champions League - no matter what happens to Liverpool in Istanbul.

Liverpool will then have to rely solely on a change of rules by UEFA should they win the final but finish out of the top four in the Premiership. But a rule change now appears unlikely, with UEFA director of communications William Gaillard insisting the rule "stays at it is" for next season.

Gaillard told the Daily Mail: "For future seasons, say from 2006-2007, the executive committee may look to change the rule. But for next season the rule stays at it is.

"The English Premiership has four places and it would be unfair to tell another national association that they have lost one of theirs.

"You cannot change the rule at this late stage of the season."

The FA will continue to lobby UEFA for a fifth place for English clubs, and the position of European football's governing body appeared to have shifted slightly but importantly in favour of Liverpool this week following an intervention from president Lennart Johansson.

Although their regulations stipulate that a maximum of four sides from any one country can take part in Europe's elite club competition, Johansson made it clear UEFA's executive committee do have the power to overrule and enforce any changes.

However, Gaillard's comments seem to leave Liverpool chasing an unlikely fourth place in the Premiership for the right to play in next season's competition.

I'm hoping Arsenal bow down for the European Cup finalists!! :bowdown

Think we might will struggle after Tuesday's performance but the dressing room will still be buzzing so we can beat Arsenal

I'm hoping Toon can beat Everton, 3-1 last night will give them a bit confidence whereas Everton have been poor of late

I know a very special person who supports the gunners. I wish that on Sunday night the smile was on my face and not on his. He has pulled my leg long enough lately.

ive got the same feeling again as i did before the chelsea match and i predicted that we would win weeks before and was very confident and look what happened. So far whenever i have had these feeling i have always been right not just that once and now i have the same feeling but not as strong that we are going to get 4th spot and win our last 2 games , everton will lose 2 of theirs and draw their last game and we will win the champions league and this will be a very successful season. Now we have found out we wont be getting a champions league place next season the players are going to try very hard, we are goin to beat arsenal and then beat villa and get 4th and beat milan, if we dont i will eat my hat. i havent been this confident over a few matches for a long time. if this doesnt happen i will admit my foolishness for suggesting it but it will

Strongly disagree. Whilst Newcastle have been in poor form, their away win over Fulham will give them quite some confidence comming to the game against Everton, they will want to end the season with some pride and what better way to do it by winning the last two games.

Exactly JMac. We didn't fear Juventus nor Chelsea so we shouldn't fear Arsenal.

Im not too sure, our form hasnt been good after champions league games, and it was a massive effort on Tues. But again i think if we can nick one within the firts 20mins, hen we can hold firm for the rest of the game and just play on the counter.
Im still 50/50.......but in reality it is MUST WIN!!!

Cmon u reds
