don't think so, they're only just hitting the big time over here and the yank market is notoriously difficult to crack. especially if you're any good it would appear :D

i cant believe there are people who dont know who ian brown is!!!!
thats like not knowing whoi john lennon is (except ian brown has had a better solo career)
and whilst on the subject. can we stop talking about 60s music.. the 60s are over people.
We have some of the best bands in ages all coming from the uk: kasabian, bloc party, futureheads, killers, razorlight....

and all we can do is mention those beatles.

Its good to be back :D

i guarentee you dawson the beatles have more classic songs on one album (revolver or rubber sole or any one) than all those bands will have put together on all their albums at the end of their careers.
kasabian aren`t bad but thats all you need to be nowadaze.
class is timeless lad, just like in football.

have to disagree. gimme beatles older stuff any day but as soon as sgt pepper came out, no thanks. Its like nirvana, good at the time but dated...same as footballers.
yes in their day some footballers were the best, but things change, time moves on, evolution is constant.

Just an opinion, so cant be wrong, can be unique tho :blues:  :p

you dont like the stuff from peppers and afterwards.......
do you think any of the bands you mentioned will come up with songs like : a day in the life, something,i am the walrus, let it be, hey jude, revolution, while my guitar gently weeps, she`s leaving home etc, etc.
they wont mate, the beatles where just musical freaks, nearly every song they wrote was either excellent or a classic, other bands are lucky if they come up with five.

Beatles don't really do it for me, prefer the stones.

My mum lived on Penny Lane at the height of Beatlemania but didn't even like them

She still tried to rob the street sign though :D

I say equally great. I have more of a preference for the Beatles but I also like The Stones. The Beatles in my opinion though, came up with better songs. The Stones songs are okay, but they are not quite as good. If I had to choose a favorite song by each, I would say from the Beatles: Hey Jude and from The Stones: Paint it Black. :)
