Liverpool are set to launch a bid for Ali Al-Habsi.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers around, and was widely expected to join Bolton Wanderers from Norwegian club Lyn.

However, Lyn director Morgan Andersen has described Bolton’s offer for the stopper as ‘insulting’, opening the way for a move elsewhere.

"There is no point even discussing it," Andersen told VG of Bolton's offer. "The offer is terribly low, it is almost insulting our intelligence."

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is on the lookout for a new number one, and is believed to be weighing up a move for the Oman international during the January transfer window.

Just to add to the rumour mill, ive got SKY soccer special on and the starting line up for Man City doesnt include Anelka ...........he isnt even on the bench and !! he isnt injured.............. the plot thickens :suspect:

Sound like James Beattie didn't play against us last week before he signed for Everton!!

I hope that Andy Johnson is NOT coming to Anfield, I don't rate him very highly but he is a good player but not for Liverpool.

Point being tho is that Anelka isnt playing, isnt on the subs bench and isnt injured !!............and he is their top striker , so why would they not play him ,its not like he has old legs etc.........very suspious..................but then again i do like the odd conspiracy theory

The players mentioned are only POSSIBILITIES. So guys, don't get too excited. Nothing is confirm untill the day, we see those players which have been mentioned are in the red shirt. For now, we can say whatever we want... Liverpool getting Ronaldo, Kaka, Zidane, Garrido, Vicente.... maybe even me?
