the new coach would like him to stat but also get this Luxemburgo dont like owen or beckham and fans of real have started to talk of him being sold.

bbc

Real Madrid could block Fernando Morientes' switch to Liverpool if new coach Wanderley Luxemburgo decides he wants to keep the striker.
Morientes appeared to be on the verge of leaving with Ronaldo, Raul and Michael Owen ahead of him in the squad.

But his agent Gines Carvajal said: "The Real Madrid president (Florentino Perez) has asked us to wait as he wants to know what the new coach decides

I know, it p1sses me off that they knew we wanted Mori and then they go an appoint a new coach, you would think that they would let him talk to the new manager sooner rather than later but we will have to wait another week before we get an answer reagrds if Mori is staying or is going to join Liverpool, I fookin hate waiting!!

i`d have him back, lets face it he`s guaranteed goals.
he`s used to scoring from little or no chances so whilst real madrid`s other stars are struggling michael owens saying to himself " its been like this for five years, just another day at the office for me."
he plays off the last man as good as anyone i`ve ever seen, and i think he and alonso would have been a excellent double act. michael and steven gerrard also had that keegan-toshack type understanding that you dont get much nowadaze.

This is a joke right? Buy Owen back for how much? I guarantee you that it would be more than 8 million so what the hell would that mean? It would mean that we made absolutely no profit, not going to happen

talking of beckham being out of favour, he was made to train alone the other day afer turing up late. ha!

but as regards who comes or goes, won't that be left for sacchi to decide when he arrives?

It's good if Owen is back. But, it's hardly months since he left. So, I don't if there is any possibility to bring him back. He's done quite well with little time spent on the field. With this new style of Liverpool, and I have seen the services into the box is much much better this season, he would score more goals. If we can get both Owen and Morientes, it's really good.

Benitez gives Real one week
LIVERPOOL have set a one week deadline to complete the transfer of Fernando Morientes.

Rafa Benitez will pull the plug on the £5m bid if a deal isn't agreed by next weekend.

If Real Madrid continue to block the transfer, Benitez will turn his attentions elsewhere, with Nicolas Anelka topping the list of alternatives.

While Anelka is highly rated at Anfield, Benitez hasn't given up hope on his prime target, Morientes, just yet.

There's been no official move for Anelka and there's not likely to be until the Morientes deal is dead.

Benitez diplomatically suggested the latest delay was due to the Spanish holidays, but talks have been ongoing on a daily basis and Madrid's indecision, as well as the role of Morientes' agent Gines Carvaja, is the stumbling block.

While the player has always declared his intention is to move to Anfield, his agent has been trying to entice other clubs into an auction.

A deal worth around £5m was close on a number of occasions since Liverpool made their move, only for the Spanish club to change its mind again.

Should the Morientes negotiations collapse, Benitez will still need more convincing Anelka is the solution.

Although the French striker was a hit during his loan stint at Anfield, the Liverpool boss thinks it would represent a gamble to bring him back.

Benitez has favoured Morientes over the ex-Arsenal star from the outset, which is why he's remained so patient in the face of Madrid stubborness.
