Breaking news fowler returns on loan in jan

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby welsh wizzard » Wed Dec 22, 2004 11:09 pm

just heard today that robbie is returning in jan on loan for rest of season my mates girlfriend works at the ground and heard this today the club have been mulling it over for the last 2 weeks and realise they have nothing to lose they have stated that if he does well he will be offered a 2year contract at end of season they feel he will do an exellent job as he can also play in champions league what better motivation can he want they realise that he is looking alot sharper and with the right service will score the goals there have been secret meetings and robbie is willing to half his wages to get the move home,if this is true it could be one hell of a shrewd move by the club realising its gods chance to grasp a dream return home and its up to him to make it work.

if its true it would be a step backward!! lets not forget he was transfered not only because he wasn't considered the same player of previous seasons, but all so because of his lifestyle a dissruptive influence on his team mates. you cant turn back time, fowler will never be the player he was in his prime. we should move on and look to the future.[why not ask rushie back, he was much better than fowler!] :p :p

 He was great was our Robbie
But maybe I would prefer good memories than for him to come back and fail :(
Maybe he would have to much expectation from the fans ecspecially the young ones who never seen him in action.
If he came back and succeeded then it would be nothing short of a miracle but I just cant see it myself :)

The more i think about this the more excited i get.Fowler was a hero to me Yes he may have lost it, but he just may still have that spark and now that Thommo has gone he has everything to prove and nothing to lose .And if you look how Raffa is getting the best out of a lot of our players maybe Just maybe God can return Heaven.

I say let him play for five months.  What harm can it do?  I don't think it would be a permanent move, or that we would give him a 2 year deal in July 2005.  We're still rebuilding as a team.

While Robbie is a legend and always will be I think it would be taking a step back and I doubt that Rafa would get him on a loan.

I think Fowler would be a great idea, I hope it's true, I agreed a few weeks back that I'd love to see Robbie back at Anfield

No harm what so ever his hearts always been at anfield thats why he was never a good player anywere else, he didnt want to leave if only he had his head together and not preferred his social life more than his footballing carrear he would still be with us now, but on the other hand we loved the cheeky little ****** and his antics :D

Deep down i think your right Kenco .Its just old feelings die hard. and lets face it on loan what have we got to lose?Ok we pay his wage's for 5 months if it dont work out we havnt lost that much and it give's us that extra backup till the end of the season when Rafa can shop for a good replacement instead of a Panic buy in January. Dont get me wrong i dont think either of the two forwards weve been linked with (Anelka and Morientes) are bad buys if we get them .But maybe it would give us more options if we got Fowler now and took a risk ,Then come the summer we will have more Options on who to buy as a long term replacement.
