The problem is, this place is a Liverpool forum, first and foremost, and last night there was 4 or 5 new posts (at least 3 of them smilies) in LFC:General Discussion in 2 or 3 hours, while there were at least 15 times that number of posts in the same period in General Chat.

You log on looking for a bit of Liverpool discussion, all you get now is spam and smilies.

i gotta gree, there is alot of ****** we gotta sift through. also a lot of aliases which annoys me more than anything. Dunno how to sort it tho except that we can just keep sifting through everything.
You have to look at the plusses as well though. There is a lot of good stuff on here and thats a definate plus. We also have the advanced forum which we can go too when we need our fix of real kop talk.

Personally i just think its too clicky sometimes and its hard to join in, so thats why some people over compensate with smilies, spam and other such nonsense

Strange what JBG said about not even looking at general chat until he'd been here a few months - I was the same, I joined in March and posted almost exclusively in the LFC General Discussion but then stopped posting throughout the summer for one reason or another. But when I came back in August/September I've ended up in mostly general chat, dunno why really cos I don't think I put a single post in there during my first stint on the forum. Back then gen chat seemed to be all Beavis, Cheeso etc who never really floated my boat

Know what you mean Dawsonio about it being clique-ey, but never found it a problem when I joined the fun on gen chat. I must admit though that I do like it cos there aren't really that many regular posters and everybody knows eachother. Means you don't have to listen to the same old same old from blissfully unaware newbies and some of the idiots who think they know everything

Similar to my own experience Wooly, I also found after a while that the same topics and consequently the same old arguements came round and around again and again . I still look in there from time to time but frankly find the general chat more entertaining .

It is a sad enditement of this place, and its fall from grace.

When I first joined up, I only ever looked in the first forum at the top (before the advanced forum), and I was enthralled and amazed that so many people shared my love of LFC, I really enjoyed the banter and the arguments are quite amusing, but above all there was ALWAYS debate on LFC.

Sadly, this is no more. Most of the members who could string a decent conversation up have left or migrated to the General Chat area.

Now most people treat this place like face party, and "The Real World" and "Hunk Zone" are popular for all the wrong reasons.

Most of the inhabitants of General Chat, Woolyback, Woof Woof, CGGY, Zara, Dawson, Simic_ie, (and many others who I can not remember right now) used to be really great posters in the LFC area, but now seem to congregrate in Chat much more often.

Its a real shame, I am member on a few LFC forums, and this was often my favorite, sadly now I find myself bypassing it as there is little LFC discussion and it is more like FACE PARTY! :down:

i think the problems ar the multiple topics and a lot of topics being transfer rumours and what not, with the same old rhetoric being posted by many.

i do agree with leon in part, but the main reason im not in the 'football' chats as much is because it is pure repitition. i do always read it and post there a bit but more often than not i find myself re-reading the same thing over and over again. i think this should end at the end of the january window though and im looking forward to going back in there.

no in all seriousness,I try to post as much in general discussion and Advanced debate as possible, and occasionly in the other football areas.

Unfortuantley many topics these days are repetitive and cover the same/similar points that have been covered in other threads or are just baseless rumours - I am getting sick of all the Morientes and Gerrard threads.

Still a good forum here though with a lot of knowledgebale members, General chat is a good laugh though and I enjoy posting in here as well.

To be honest I have moved into the General Chat a lot more than I used to since I started clicking on New Posts up the top, whereas before i used to just go straight to LFC Discussion. I do venture into the other forums to have a look almost everyday but there are only so many Stevie Gerrard/ Morgan etc. topics that I can put up with. I will always post a serious comment in these threads if they interest me and aren't just a re-hash of the same threads that have been up fot the last year. It's gone from Houllier out, to MO is he going/staying and now its the same with Stevie. I don't even bother looking at these threads when I see these titles now. I love talking about LFC and if I feel I can have a reasonable arguement with someone willing to take on board what I'm saying without having my opinions thrown straight back at me because they are not the same as someone else's.

Another major problem and something I don't like seeing is righteous fools chasing supporters of other clubs out just because they are from other clubs. I remember a long time ago before most of the current members were here an Everton supporter with the ID Royal Blue MErsey. He came on here gave his opinions had a bit of banter about the Liverpool/Everton thing but never was spiteful and was always reasonable in his posts. I just don't feel that supporters of certain clubs are going to get that fair chance these days.

So all in all, my post level in the LFC area has gone down because I don't feel its that easy to have a healthy and structured debate without some members, who may have problems with another member, dragging it down to childish name calling and getting off the topic

i also remember spending hours writing a massive post on how i thought the players were all doing (ok, about 30 mins.... but still) and within 20 minutes it was already on page 2 because of 6 or 7 new threads, mostly devoted to stevie g. that just puts me off writing my masterpieces!

It doesnt entise you to start topics when last week when I clicked on new posts it was all Gerrard, this morning in the list was Anelka and Morientes about 6 of them, then some stupid ones like tumbleweed and Hi from a long time member :down:

Therefore you retreat to The Real World as there are new posts worth replying to and havin a laugh.

I dont know what Faceparty is so I cant comment on it.
