Robinson

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I keep reading about Leeds having to sell most of their team. Paul Robinson is going for 2million. If houlier no longer has faith in Dudek then why dont we buy him. It would be bargain of the season.
For that matter why dont we take milner off them 2.
Alan Smith 2 if we can calm him down.
All 3 wouldnt cost us alot

I completely agree Dav, Robinson would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool side. He is a young player, and for him personally, a move to Liverpool could possibly enable him to devolop even more and stake his claim as a future England no1.

Good question JBG, what about Kirkland.  I think he'll be better than Robinson, so why buy Robinson?  Doesn't make sense to me.  We should get rid of Jerzy hold on to Jones and then keep picking up an experienced replacement (for Jones) every couple of seasons.

Hope that makes sense.  I do like Alan Smith though, said it a few times on here.  I like the fact that he's firey too, you can't take that away from his game.

I prefer both Kirkland and Dudek over Robinson

I wouldn't want Smith in a million years, he is a non-scoring red card waiting to happen. As I have said many times, he has more yellow cards than Premiership goals!

I think we need a few more red cards!  Spice things up a bit.

We struggle to win with 11 let alone 10.

Besides we need someone to take the goalscoring burden off Owen's shoulders... not put it on.

Smith has some talent, but as Stu and Owzat said, he seems to have an agenda fouling defenders rather than gunning for goal.

I think that with 2 excellent keepers already, as well as an experienced and seasoned pro as back up and a young French keeper to boot, why the hell do we need Robinson?

A couple of out field players - a top class left back, maybe another centre half, a right sided midfielder and a proven goalscorer - are far more pressing matters!

i have no problem with Dudek i think he has lots of talent.
What i put in the post is Houlier seems to have a problem with him and if he plans to get rid of him then robinson but be an ideal replacement and he would be cheap.
We all seen how westervelt was treated by houlier.

And how exactly was Westervelt treated by houllier / you might hear Sander bleating to the papers over the affair but houllier keeps his own cousel. Anyway IF this forum had been online around the time of Sanders departure, i'd say most of the fans in here would have been calling for Sander to go (i.e. not good enough , poor dcision maker etc...) GH simply did what we all could see, let Sander go cos he believed it was the BETS thing for LFC. As for Robinson he would be a good purchase but i think Kirkland IF he cangeta nd stay fit will rule between the sticks fior LFc for a long time to come. I suspect robinson knows as much so might be reluctant to come to LFC should Dudek leave. Also would be nice to sella  player(DUDEK) for MORE than we buy one in for(Robinson a change. What do the econimists call it ......market fiorces LOL Who if anybody is sheddinga  tear for Leeds right now ? Hmmmmm 1 person at the back perhaps LOL

I don't think Houllier would bring Robinson to Anfield if he cost nothing,I think the first thing Houllier looks at when in the transfer market is the players birth certificate if it doesn't say "born in France" he isn't interested  :O

How do you explain the signings of Hamann, Babbel, Hyypia, Kewell, Henchoz, Dudek, Kirkland, Baros, Diouf, Diao, Biscan, Litmanen, McAllister, Finnan, Riise and Heskey then? :)
