who cares if mellor is "big boned" as you say, if that fat f**k wayne 'i look like shrek and i'm so fat i need to cut my jersey to get it over my fat head' rooney can do it anybody can.

I fail to see how Mellor can get any stick for yesterday's performance.He worked his socks off and walloped in the winner.Whether there is a future for the lad at Anfield is open to debate,but for now be thankful he was wearing the red shirt and gave us one of them moments to savour.

y'know - since starting this thread i have to hold my hands up. i've watched the game again and seen highlights. mellor was better than i first thought (as i've said on other threads). in the heat of the game you often miss things...

i take it all back... he's not fat or big boned - just a bit red faced from all the running!!

without him defending at the front we might have felt the full force of some of those arsenal attacks.

Mellors dad was on tv earlier and said his lad had until the transfer window to save his Liverpool career. Its his big chance to impress. To be honest his dad did not seem over confident Mellor could do it, but if he did not do enough he would find his level, even if it was division one. It was an honest interview. Whilst he had the greatest moment yesterday I think its fair to say that he will be out of favour again once we get a forward in January.

its probably true - he won't be part of rafa's long term plans. but the lad has earned himself a place in the hearts of the supporters.

wherever he goes in the future we're all gonna be behind him.

Hes the reason we are still in the carling cup, and beating arsenal, and he will score a few more before hes dropped, I think everyone should get off his back.
And hes not even fat, but if he scores goals for us something which he does on a regular basis for the reserves, he should continue to play till we have Baros back and a new striker come january, but I would keep him till the end of the season, just incase we require his services again.
Plus if he does score a bag full his valuation of 500 thousand to sheffield will double.
And maybe a bottom prem team would give us 1 or 2 mill.
We got 6 mill for Heskey how manys he scored so far 1

Only messin, I wouldn't say Mellor was fat but neither would I say Kewell is fat but they could both do with 'trimming up' a little :;):
