Harvey Elliott

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I Think next season we will see a driven and extremely motivated Elliott and it will be his turn to grab the plaudits ,the lad is just so talented that I think reds fans should just take it for granted he will be an absolute star and massive player for us. I think if Harvey was playing for Barcelona he would have an equal amount of pundits queuing up to lick his @rse as Gavi does. Exceptional young talent and I'm excited for next season, the manager just has a ridiculous amount of connotations for our midfield and attack next season ,especially with signing Carvalho.

Liverpool have been dealt an injury blow after Harvey Elliott suffered a fractured foot in training.
The 21-year-old pulled out of the England U21 squad last week after experiencing discomfort during training.
The full of extent of Elliott's injury is not yet clear, although The Times report he could be out until late October.
The injury comes at a difficult time for Arne Slot, with Liverpool facing a punishing calendar over the next two months.
If the reported timeline is correct, he could miss games against Chelsea, RB Leipzig and Arsenal with Liverpool in action in three competitions over that period.

Bad news but atm the situ is manageable.I cant stand these mind-numbingly boring international breaks but there is another one early next month which will account for 2 of the 7 weeks he's supposed to be out which is a fair chunk, every cloud and all that. Chiesa coming in eases a bit of pressure just in terms of numbers as well.
Its a shame for Harvey because after being one of our best performers last year and looking super creative in pre season he's struggled to get past Dom Szlobozlai which is understandable, no shame in that, Dom's terrific but we are approaching that time of year now where the games come thick and fast and Harvey would have got a lot of game time i'm sure.

I'm disappointed that Liverpool are letting Harvey go

Yeah, me too. I understand him wanting to leave though, it didn't seem like he'd get too many chances with the current roster. Hope at least we'll include a buy-back clause.

At least Joe Gomes is staying, he HAS to score a goal before he leaves!

He needs first team football and there’s zero chance of him dislodging any of our centre midfield.

Hope he does well on loan and finds a new permanent deal.

It's a loan with an obligation to buy and apparently we've included both a buy-back and a sell-on clause.

I'll be sad to see him go myself, neat and tidy little footballer with a terrific work ethic and great attitude. Never let us down once, in fact pulled us out of the sh.1t a good few times with late goals and assists. Wish him nothing but the best for the future.

Looks like he’ll be coming back in January.

Struggled to get a start at Villa and has reportedly fallen out with Emery after getting publicly criticised for his performances.

Will be a useful squad player, but think it’ll be best for him to move on. Perhaps Brentford or Bournemouth is more his level?

I'd say he'd fit into any non top 4 side except United. He'd make a perfect £25-30 million back up player for Brighton etc.. or a stability player for Wolves or West Ham etc.. But I don't think we need him back at Anfield unless he can play CB.

I'd quite to see him back myself, he's a little grafter, tons of enthusiasm and energy. Not saying i'd start him every week but a welcome addition to the squad imo. Wish he was on the pitch during that League Cup tie against Palace put it that way. Hell of a nice lad as well, respectful, say's all the right things....i hope he does come back.
Didn't he win the player of the tournament award in the U21 Euro's in the summer? The lad can play a bit too.

Don't mind having him in the team as a squad player but he'll hardly get any playing time under Arne. Slot said it himself when he arrived here, he prefers to play his regular players as often as possible. I guess that has its own upsides but a lot of squad players won't get a game because of that. Chiesa for example doesn't get any playing time even when everybody else is playing like sh!t.

Arne is extremely lucky to be in a job as far as i'm concerned, everyone on planet earth bar maybe him, Gerrard and Mcmanaman could see that the 25/26 version of Mo was a pale shadow of previous versions yet he continued to play him week after week after week costing us goodness how many points. He wouldn't even sub him.
We are nearly halfway through the season and Ekitike and Isak still haven't played in the same front 3 yet. Subbing Wirtz and Isak against West Ham was beyond bizarre as well, I've long given up trying to make sense of what's going on in Arne's head, Harvey should do the same.

get the lad back as a useful option in cups or off the bench, Arne doesn't get a say, he's lucky to have a job and who says if he indeed will come new year. One win against West Ham doesn't make everything OK
As for Harvey, I always liked him tbh

I'm convinced Slot is off his rocker mate, either that or he's a complete chancer who was propped up by Heitinger last season. Look at Isak, cost us the GDP of a small nation, spent an absolute fortune on him, British transfer record. Now probably due to how he left Newcastle etc and not having a pre season the lad has a terrible start, his confidence is obviously through the floor, he's looked disinterested all season and plays like his hearts not in it.
On Sunday he starts the game in the exact same fashion i.e looks like he couldn't give a fv.ck, looks like he doesn't want to be there etc but then suddenly out of the blue he scores, next minute he's like a completely different player, he's running around with enthusiasm, closing people down, urging his team mates to back his pressing up, he wants another goal, you can see it.
What does Rinus Michels on our bench do - drags him off. You could see Isak turn around to someone and say 'me', he couldn't believe he was getting dragged off. We wait 6 months for the real Alexander Isak to turn up and when he finally does the genius in the dug out fv.cking drags him off.
Head scratching decisions are becoming the norm with this fella, you're honestly shocked when he makes a good decision, couldn't believe it when i saw he'd finally dropped Mo on Sunday, couldn't believe it.
