Liverpool Football Club - Games

Credit to Salzburg for willing to throw everything and attack us...but we should know better. A couple of games on the bench for Hendo will be just reward. Just like the old days when a player is having a stinker he will lose his place and work his way back up

At 3 up that should have been a stroll but them getting level took the enjoyment out of it.

Actually kinda enjoyed this game. We may rightfully blame some of our players but Salzburg were amazing as well, what a team. They remind me of Ajax a bit. Hope they go through instead of Napoli.

As for our players, Henderson and Gomez need to raise their hand and admit they were awful today. Hopefully Matip will be back for the next game, while I expect Hendo to be dropped for Milner.

Anyway, Slazburg man, we really should take a look at some of their players. That Minamino was a handful today, and that kid Haland that was carrying an injury and didn't play for most of the game (but still scored) looks like a real prospect.

Need Ali back as well as Matip, Adrian has done well but he doesn't fill you with confidence

He's NOT the biggest problem here...a combination of Salzburg's play and couple of off-coloured play from key players made this interesting.

This is a cup competition guys...points matter more than goals so I'm ***** with the lack of professionalism and how we allowed a game to almost slipped from our grip, but am not worried. Klopp will sort this out in the dressing room right now

Even VVD had an off night. Very poor at the back, all of them. Credit to Salzburg, they had no fear and it showed.

Despite the almost capitulation, we arent in too bad a position in the group since Napoli drew against Genck...

Watched the game in Las Vegas big screen but no Commentary. We played well first half, just got abit complacent and let them back in just before half time. I thought Salzberg came out fired up second half and took full momentum of the game.. Klopp genuinely looked worried. The goal with the fake shot that put VVD on his butt was class tbh. But we battled back and thankfully took a needed 3 points. We really missed Matip at the back.

Well, Gomez did show where his position should be... on the bench observing Matip how to play....

Klopp seemed quite calm in the presser but I hope they got a bollocking for that near capitulation....not just hendo and gomez, but the whole team for losing their composure. Even Fabinho had a few moments of indecision along with Adrian. Salzburg did play a good game though...we should definitely raid their squad in the next few transfer windows :)

An awful performance almost by the whole team apart from Mane and Firmino in parts, complacency in the team must be rooted out, we have 8-10 tough games coming up and on this showing, it could disasters. Salzburg should have won it easily had they taken their missed chances. A bad game and Klopp takes full responsibility, there is no real competition for places in the squad, just straight first 11 and with an addon of Milner and Origi!! No real depth!

Next game is really tough and watches out for any slip-up!!

Think to say it was an "awful performance" is a bit over the top.

For 30 minutes we were magnificent, displaying some of the most assured and inventive footy that was a masterclass in attacking football.

Maybe it became to "easy" for the players and we did indeed appear to switch off and become complacent ?

Salzburg eventually showed that going forward they are not mugs

Think it was a good lesson for us, and one Klopp will insist we definitely learn from.

Overall I would say it was more than disappointing to let slip a 3-0 lead but credit to the team for digging in and finding a winner.

Agree with Woof, I thought for the first 30 mins that we were outstanding, probably the best football we've played this season, we just completely switched off after we went 3-0 up, we didn't start to perform again until they equalised which was very disappointing but at least we got the victory in the end and hopefully we learn from it.
