LFC Fixtures 2019/20

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Reg » Thu Jun 13, 2019 9:57 am

The action is scheduled to get under way on August 10 and conclude on May 17, 2020.

Video assistant referees will be in use for all 380 top-flight matches this term after clubs agreed to their introduction in November.

All Premier League teams will also have a weekend off in February for the very first time. The break will be split over two weeks and 10 sides will sit out the first weekend, while the other 10 won't play the following weekend.

The league welcomes three new teams after their promotion from the Championship and bids farewell to relegated Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town.

All dates are subject to change for live television coverage or due to Champions League and Europa League scheduling for Liverpool and their opponents.
The away fixture against Norwich is subject to change to February 15 as part of the mid-season player break.

The above dates in Reg's post will all change though, subject to TV schedules, BT sport and Skysports matches etc.

Good to be going away at Old Trafford first, then Anfield in January. Usually other way round.

Tough finish to the season though if we are in the title race, City in April, then Arsenal and Chelsea in May!!

Compare our last games in May with City's:

LFC:  May
Saturday 2 – Arsenal (A)
Saturday 9 – Chelsea (H)
Sunday 17 – Newcastle United (A)

City's : May
2/5 - Bournemouth (H)
9/5 - Watford (A)
17/5 - Norwich (H)

... and these games came out of the hat?

It doesn’t matter what order the games are or how they’re scheduled...there are no easy games in the PL

I guess it depends how close the title race is on those fixtures.
Ie: come the end of April if we are ten points clear then great. But If we are behind by a few points then it looks tough.

Looks like we will be missing at least Keita, Mane and Salah at the start of the season due to the African Cup and not sure about the South Americans, probably some of them also.

What date is it today? The 3rd? They must be due back for pre-season training soon. Aren't we supposed to be playing Tranmere on the 11th or 12th?

I thought it was this week. But due to the Champions league final, I think it will be next Monday
